fmic installed...no boost?
Well the intercooler is all installed, was taking it for a run and I heard a loud pop. We get out of the car and a cap came off what I think is the BAC(not positve). Well I put a new cap on and I get no boost at all. None. I was only boosting a max of 13# and lower. Any ideas? All the couplings for the fmic are tight and I can't find any hose off the turbo. I can reve and rev and still no boost. Any ideas? Thanks.

um you still get boost revving the engine. Is exhaust still going out the manifold, then you should get boost. Hmm, I am not sure what might be causing your problem, sounds like you blew something out but its hard to say where. I am not a turbo guy so I don't want to hazzard too much of a guess.

No no it can happen right away! I happned to me!
It ended up being the center barrings so maybe just take off your intake and check the play on the shaft if there is sufficient amount then you might not be getting any thing cause the turbo is rattling arround? does the turbo sound sick or not at all? if not at all maybe you seased your center barring by lack of oil..? or something? but check the shaft play!

Well from the sound of it you need to check over all those connections again from the turbo to the throttle body. What make me think this is by you saying that it blew black smoke when you heard the popping sound. The black smoke came from an all of a sudden lost in boost and the car having excess amount of fuel in the engine. Trust me, check over all those connections again, they may look like there together but they can come apart pretty easily if not fastened tightly together. Plus they may look like there together but accually there just laying close together and not accually fastened. I had this same thing happen to me and I thought there was something seriously wrong and all it turned out to be was a bad connection. Hope this helps!

Well I took the intake off to check for shaft play and there was none that I could feel at all. But there were alot of bent fins, not sure if that matters too much. I checked all the hoses from the boost controller, etc and they're all on. I tightened the TID up and everything. I'll check to be sure the intercooler couplings are all good and tight still. If there was a big enough vac leak to not boost, then would it still hold an idle? Can I spray starter fluid around to check for leaks? Thanks for the help guys.

DO NOT SPRAY STARTER FLUID IN A ROTARY!!!!! Very bad! Yes it would still hold an idle, well at least mine did. Keep checking those couplings, theres one loose, I can almost guarantee. If its not fully secured it wont boost at all. Let me know what you find.

well the bent fins might present a problem in the long run... that is if you mean bent like BAD BENT! (not trying to be condasending). However did you check the dp for oil? while you were checking the shaft play did you see if it spun freely? if so then your turbo is good to go and the problem lies elsewhere! Do you have an aftermarket Boost Guage?

Alright no starter fluid, lol. Gotcha. I won't be able to check anymore stuff since the car is at my friends house for the night. The turbo did spin freely. I didn't check the DP though. I have a GReddy boost gauge. Tomorrow I will make for sure that all the couplings are completely secure and then report back. I hope you're right because I haven't even gotten a chance to enjoy my new equipment! Plus I am supposed to go to the track tomorrow.

Ya I plugged the lines. One of them blew off when I went to check what happened when I heard the pop and had no boost. It was the one that has the idle adjust screw in it. I capped it back up and still no boost.

hmmm...
if the turbo's "blades" are still rotating by hand easily and there is no up or down, left or right play in it, then it MIGHT be your compressor....
Was your Blow Off Valve still connected and properly functioning? (or maybe the stock BOV).
If not it could have been compressor surge that killed it (causing pressure to back up in the system after letting off, which could explain the cap on the BAC "popping" off).
