Unhappy flooding i think

every time i drive my car then park it it seems to flood i think cuz it wont start and smells strong of gas but if i let it sit for a few hours it start i check the spark plugs and battery and they r good it turns over but dosent start any ideas

Yeah it flooding have you check your compression numbers?

Low compression may lead to frequent flooding. Could also be a lot of fuel getting in some other way.

To unflood, pull EGI INJ fuse. It's in the fuse box on top, on the driver's side, under the hood. Now crank it a bit with the gas pedal pushed down to let the fuel out. Thanks to that fuse you pulled it won't add any more fuel and won't start. Now replace the fuse and try to start it. You may need to pull the fuse and try again. Give the starter time to cool down between repeated attempts.

usually i redline before i shut off.....never flooded....but the occasional times when i didnt it sometimes flooded......try redlining then shuting down

red line seems a lill excessive i always hit 2000 and it works just fine. redlining any engine with no load is bad.

dude if your not getting into fuelmanagement systems then go buy youu a 2.00 toggle switch an hook it up to your fuel pump positive wire. if the car floods out you just turn the switch off an the car will start right up,as soon as it starts turn the switch back to the on position. this worked for me for years till i got a e/m sys.
