Flooding?

My car very rarely ever starts up the first time and stays running. It'll start up and like 5 seconds later die. I can keep it going by taping the gas but no matter how light the tap, it always revs up to about 2 grand. Also, sometimes when my car has been stiting for several hours at night and I go to start it the next morning, it won't start. I have a fuel cut-off swich that I switch and that fixes it. Anyways, my friend said that its probably because I have leaky injectors. Does this sound right? Thanks!

Sounds like it.. An extreme case if true.

How is your switch setup? Fuel pump relay interrupt? Or EGI Fuse interrupt?

Umm, it was actually installed before I got the car, and I don't know **** about cars, but I'd assume its a fuel pump relay interrupt because he told me that it shuts off the fuel pump. Is there any other symtoms that that woudl cause, like bad gas mileage? Thanks!

You have 2 different problems. Flooding and the idle problem. On cold start it will rev high with a cold start. Usually up to 3.5K then drops in few seconds to 2K. Then down to normal 750.

Next time it won't start and if you have time, remove one spark plug from each rotor. If it is fouled lightly or more its prolly leaky injector(s). Fix is having them serviced.

I just found out, Autozone or someone has a leaky fuel injector repair kit or something that replaces the O rings. Anyone know if they work? They're like 7 bucks as opposed to the 120 bucks for a new injector. Now I just gotta find out how to get to my injectors!

BTW: Thanks for all the tips!
