Is there enough gas in the car? Maybe its a low fuel beep? I know the fuel pump is on the left side of the tank, so when you went left all the gas would go right...just a thought.

I have the same thing. While I'm cruising down the highway or something after a minute it will start.

I've been told its the power steering computer causing the beep. And a few reasons for it: bad speed sensor(in cluster), low fluid. Of which I replaced the cluster twice and same deal, and fluid hasn't changed noticeably in the last month+.

Oh for ***** and giggles I replaced the power steering computer too. Still BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEPP

Next i'm doing the angle sensor on the steering column... i dunno

it's your power steering computer that's beeping. you just have to find out what 5 beeps means as it's a code. I can't seem to find anything in the manual though. but by beeping 5 times it's telling you the problem. where as beeping 3 times would be something else. someone just has to post what 5 beeps means

I had the same damn thing happen to me It was irritating as hell. It would only happen on the interstate and by the time I would pull over to see what it was, it would stop. Drove me crazy. at the time I didn't have a stereo in the car so I couldn't drown it out. I took it to shops, had it hooked up to computers. made people ride with me. I did finally find out it was the power steering computer. I cleaned the computer cleaned the connections at the pump. I changed the computer too. The only thing that fixed it was the last thing left. the pump. It sux. The other things I did would help but it's the pump. I bet on it.

If you want a temp patch to make it stop. When you come to a stop light or what ever, pull over if you need to, Come to a complete stop and turn the wheel all the way to the left then the right then straight again. It is not a permimnent thing. It might start again after a while but it will keep you sain

don't know about fc's but on an fd, it's the airbag. i don't know if any fcs come with airbag. on the fd, the beep is simply telling that the airbag warning light bulb on dash is blown out.

i don't think this is your problem though.... srry

I had the same problem, however mine did come also every time I hit a pot hole/bump. It was the Oil level sensor located at the oil pan, I cleaned mine with carburator cleaner however the problems come back after a few months. You can disconnect the the oil level sensor (just for a ride!!) and see if the problem is gone....if not keep looking for something else.

If it were the oil level sensor, wouldnt the warning light come on for the oil. by the way there are two lights on the idiot panel that dont come on when i turn my key to the on position they are the brake indicator and the fluid indicator.

oh and i didnt want to sound like an idiot, but does "fc" stand for non-turbo models while "fd" is turbo

also when i open my door the door open beep goes off without putting the key in the ignition. it isnt a big deal when just driving around but when i work on the interior it is annoying as hell

thanks
Justin

Given what I said about the beep indicating the airbag light, I wonder if the beep you are experiencing is an indication of your warning light not working? Basically, all your warning lights should come on when the car is in the ignition in the ON position. When it's in the START position and after the car starts, the lights should come off. If all of you have some problems with the warning lights and your cars are beeping, my theory is correct...

BTW, FC is a second gen (NA and turbo). FD is a 3rd gen (93-95).

Good luck folks!
