Fitting 1600cc or bigger secondary injectors to an FC?

As title, do you always need a different fuel rail then, or?

My car currently has 4x1000cc injectors and a modified rail with a Sard FPR mounted remotely, but want to change to bigger secondaries, 1600 or 2000s really.

I know RX7 store do the upgrade with the rail etc as 1600s dont fit in the stock rail, but is that vital, or is there another way of doing it?

Thanks

I don't think there is another way of doing it. Try fitting 1600 injectors to your current rail. ...Not sure why you want to go above that. I bought the extreme fuel kit from RX7 store with fittings. I found the rail needs to be tapped some more for the fitting to fit properly. You'll need a 1.75" by 18 pitch tap.

the bosche 1600 (or 1680s actually) need to be modified to fit the stock rail.

you can get modified ones here, they're the pro import type:
http://injector.com/

or you can just get 2000cc injectors from injector dynamics which is what I run. they're high impedance which is nice.

you just have to get the ones that are 60mm long with an 11mm top o-ring and a denso bottom cushion.

yah. some need to be machined down. not a difficult thing to accomplish at all though. if you have a drill press, should be easy.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated

Is it worth the extra $100 for the 2000s over the 1600cc+rail/fpr/etc combo?

Could make some of the $$ back selling the regulator which I wont need, but are the 2000s really that much better? Pretty sure the 1600s will flow enough fuel for me (as I have 1000 primary anyhow), but I understand the 2000s have way better control etc.
