you definitely qualify for the coolest 15yr old i've ever met. In 6 years I'll buy ya a beer for a job well done. When I was 15 I heard my father say that rebuilding rotaries was black magic; he's a great tech, but I have learned over the years that I have outdistanced him. I still owe him everything though.

it does take some patience, most techs do not have the patience or the willingness to take on a unique engine like a rotary. for the most part only people who like to tinker and figure out how things work are the ones who get into rebuilding rotaries, once you got it there is nothing to it.

right on, cheaper than mine, now lets see whose lasts longer right? I was only 20 when i tackled my first rotary! My bro is rebuilding his first at 18, but you still got him beat too....damn. Good work man, keep us updated dude,
and you can make that three beers in 6 years...

Did you use any assembly lube or oil on the bearings? I didn't see any. If that's the case, make SURE you crank the engine enough to build oil pressure on your initial startup. I HOPE that you at least put Vascelene on them.
Vascelene is a great tool to hold the seals in the rotors, but it's a poor lubricant. Proper assembly lube or thick engine oil should be used.

Hey Felix, how did you do the rebuild for so cheap? I just got a j-spec motor that I need to rebuild, and it is gonna be my first rebuild too, but I thought the rebuild kit alone cost 900 bucks? How did you get it done for less than 600? I checked RA and Atkins and the kit at both was about 900? Let me know, if I can do mine for cheaper that would be great!
