Finished swap , ran good , now it seems dead!

Got all the kinks with the clutch slave and brakes worked out today. Went for a drive , stayed under 3k since the engine sat for a little and it seemed like a seal was stuck after we put it in but we span it around and put some oil in it and it seemed to break loose. If anything it idled great afterwards and started right up.

So we got for a drive , probably lasted about 5 minutes , no more than like a mile. I pulled into the gas station to put some more gas in it and put some air in the tire. It kind of stuttered and dipped revs , I gave it some gas and it evened out and idled fine again.

Started moving again and it started the same thing , low 500rpm idle and increased vibration. I had to blip the throttle to keep the revs up. Somehow got it home and it was still barely alive. The problem is the oil was low or almost none existant when we checked it but the car was on a steep hill. And when we filled the car up a few days ago it definetly had plenty of oil in it and it sure didnt puke any of it out because there are no stains. So we filled it up with more oil.

Popped the hood , everything seemed normal but we saw that an injector was leaking a bit. It was the secondary 720ccs Venoms that I just purchased and they came with brand new o-rings that were used. So pulled the mani off , reseated it. Tried it again , it ran a little better but still off. Then we played with the idle screw and it went back to normal , nice and steady at 1000.

Then the injector leaked again. So pulled the mani off again , the o-ring was ripped. We couldent find any new ones locally so we pulled the o-ring from my old na's which were in decent conditon. Put em back on and it still idles like **** at 500rpm and it seemes to have a loss of power , I barely got it up the hill into the garage.

So thats basically how it sits. Like I said before it did seem to have a stuck seal but we got that loose and after that when we first tried to start the motor it started right up and ran great. Its usdm and has 80k on it and I bought it out of a supposedly running car.

As far as other variables go the secondaries are brand new Venom 720ccs which are rebadged Nippon Densos. Brand new walbro 255 fuel pump , new fuel filter , new engine fuel lines , fresh oil , new oil filter , new plugs , wires , running rtek 1.7.

Another thing is the battery is pretty old and tired but it still lets me crank the car even with volts being aroun 8-10ish. But when I put the clutch the last time I tried to start it it actually dipped even lower than 500rpm.

So I am kind of puzzled now and looking for help. Should I bother trying new injectors , is it something electrical because like I said it ran perfect before or maybe the oil was actually low and it shat itself?

Thanks in advance.

oh and emissions are removed. The only other thing I can think of is the gas in the tank was pretty old as in like almost two years old I guess but it ran great on it. It really started messing up after I put new gas in it. So can it be a clogged injectors?

well, do a compression test and see how that stuck seal is doing. i had the same problem on a motor i installed into a friends car. idled like ***, shook really bad, so we let it suck atf thru a vacuum line for about 15 minutes, holding it at 3000 rpm, and it smoothed right out. has been running since, now is in my car and gets a good daily beating.

hold the shrader valve and then test the compression with a strong battery. should get even bounces, look for a anomaly, like 30psi,30psi,10psi

that could cause a problem. hope that helped
