finally cleaned up my 7..is it me or does it run better when its clean?

spent hours with rubbing compound and an orbital..and of coarse liquid glass for the final wax..i did this because i was recently rearended and they put new black paint from the doors back...but when i just washed it ...it looked terrible...you could tell where the new paint was and the old paint looked really bad. looked like a new car in the back and an old car in the front..thats no way for a vert owner to be driving around...lol

so i got the orbital out and spent about 7 -10 minutes on each section of old paint with some store bought compound..back and forth...back and forth...over all of the old (white looking black paint)...then i applied liquid glass wax to the whole car...whalllaaa..im so f ing impressed...you cant tell where the old paint is and the new begins.....bam...this rules...car looks new again...then

i drove her for a couple of days..and i know it sounds silly but ive done this to a few of my other older 7's in the past...and the same thing happens..when you spend a couple hours making her look new again..i swear all the little bugs( like my ac/idle probs etc) they all go away and the 7 drives awesome.......does anyone else notice this? my probs are always sporatic anyways..but i tell you when i clean the 7 up and make her shine...the acceleration is better( even with my crappy auto tranny) she shifts more aggressively..overall she just says..you know i look so ******* good i better drive as good as i look...i know it is not just me i think its part of the ecu or something and all of those sensors..when she stands tall and looks as beautiful as she can..all the sensors see it and she drives like a dream...i do tend to not clean her enough so maybe all the dirt adds up over time and makes her go slow..but cmon its just a little dirt..i think mazda has some artificial intelligence in there somewhere and she learns that a ******* hot looking car cant drive like ****..i think 7's have learned over the years how to understand pride..cuz everytime i shine the bitch up she gets all hot like its club night and struts her stuff!!

maybe its just me

let me know if you experience this next time you detail your 7..

I believe this phenomenon is due to less parasitic drag due to improved aerodynamics from the slick paint job- or it could just be the light transmitting sensors located just aft of your knuder valve where the johnson rod turns to reseat the muffler bearings.

course I could be talking out of my a@@...

Cars definately run better when they are clean. A clean car is a happy car you know! It is like they feel better about themselves among their peers (other cars).

It runs better because it weighs less, thus realiving stress.

In GT3 I think my car runs better after I wash it too. I hate the long tournaments where you cant wash you car for like 7 races, so dirty.

Yeah clean cars are faster.. I am in the processes of claying my car.. I finished the hood and one fender today. Then I used Klasse all in one and then the Klasse sealant... OMG.. I can't believe how nice it is now.. it's like buttah..

The rest of the car feels like crap now and it's only been 3 months since I did the wax and polish last time.. (sigh)

Oh well the Klasse is supposed to last 6+ months

I sware to God people.. Clay Magic clay does WONDERS for your paint!!

Trust me....this is totally true! I drove my car with low compression for about 3000km or so, it ran and idled and **** like that. Then had no insurance for a while. The other day I got insurance so I could drive it to a shop for engine rebuild. Well it was the night before I was taking her to a shop, the car was dirty as hell. I poped another seal, and scraped the rims on the right side a little bit. She was not happy with the way I was taking care of her and well...she got back at me. Now my rims look bad, and I barely made it to the shop to get it rebuilt....the only good part is that the car still ran AFTER poping the seal. Ran like TOTAL crap and could barely make it to 110km/h when accelerating, but it made it.....another 150-200km or so of driving. So the lesson....KEEP YOUR CAR CLEAN!

Guys. Really. Hows your car going to run any better when Its clean?

Thats the power of psychology for you and It's called a placebo effect In psychological/automotive terms.
