im not denying the fact that the members on this board are intelligent in thier fields.....

if you notice it was a harmless question about j-spec's...
i knew already that they dont have the best track record, im just trying to figure out my options..
i dont think i have responded to anyone inappropriately, ive only responded to kevins replys which are not up to par (as far as being nice and understanding) with the other gurus on this board...others who have helped have done so with an open mind and not a smart *** tone...usually when i ask a question i get a good response, but everytime kevin responds he acts like im some retarded P.O.S.
it was never my intention to **** anyone off with anything i said.....the fact that kevin gives me **** is beside the point....the question that i asked in the begining has been answered, so i dont know why this thread continues to build heat.......and if you say its because i keep responding thats crap....i only keep responding to defend myself against false accusations

THE QUESTION HAS BEEN ANSWERED SO LET IT GO!!

Actually, I have enjoyed the thread and found it informative, with the exception of the petty bickering. I didn't realize that the jspec's had that poor of a reputation.

Well, since fitness has deemed that the life of this thread has outlived its usefullness, I suggest we explore his earlier accusations that I have not been as gentle with him as he would have liked in my posts/replies.

From the "maybe I didnt I blow my engine" thread:

"it takes a lot less than 10 minutes to do a quickie compression test...pull 2 lower plugs and crank...how hard can it be? no use in screwing with everything else until you know the outcome of that..."

HIS REPLY:

"ARRRGGHHH.......
man......

whatever"

To the "blew my engine on the interstate" thread:

"$1000 for a used engine (self-installed or plus labor) or $12-1400 for a rebuilt engine (self-installed or plus labor)?? I dont get it. Am I doing something wrong? ."

To the "reman engine" thread:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i went to that site, but they didnt seem to have a lot of info on the page
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

uh...

lol

what are you looking for? did you bother to read the FAQ and pricing sections? tech? there is quite a bit of info there, if you bother to look for it.

but is there anywhere else....surely there is
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

sure there are. nowhere closer to you that I know of, and nowhere to get the same job done for the same rate.

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
.....i assume im gonna need atleast another grand to complete the build and install....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I can do the r & r as well for an additional $600, but this does not include new belts/hoses that you may wish to replace. I usually like to have the car for at least a week, if not 2, to complete this. But, you mention 3-4 weeks, it would not take that long.

my motor is going to go soon

if you wait until an apex lets loose, your cost (with me anyway) will increase $1-200.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i just want the whole reman process to go as smooth as possible
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the best thing to do is bring me a car, let me do the work, and come pick it up. this way you can be sure the install was done properly, and you dont have to worry with loose vacuum hoses and the like. plus, starting a fresh rebuild can be a real bitch for someone unexperienced. IT isnt like rebuilding your chevy silverado, or starting up an engine swap into your mom's toyota camry...

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
how far away from morristown are you...?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nashville is roughly 3 hours from morristown, give or take 1/2 hour for knoxville traffic...

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i would almost see if i could just drive the car there and have them transplant over the weekend or however long it would take them
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

if you want to make me work that hard you're gonna have to cough up some more dough

Again, best thing is to bring it here, leave your engine deposit, and come back in 2 weeks with the balance. course, like you said, this doesnt allow you to screw with sending the turbo off, or polishing out metal bits, but this kinda stuff can always be done later, at your convenience. You seem pretty adamant about lack of downtime.

So, someone do me a favor and point out exactly where I said something smartass or offensive to him??

jesus christ

Oh and hypntyz7 doesn't clean the parts prior to rebuilding, they are filthy, and his painting sucks too!

And my jspec is fine, perfectly maintained, came outta an automatic.
