few questions...

what is a shortblock considered in the rotary world?

easiest way to pull the engine, with the tranny or with out?

while i have the engine out should i replace the motor mounts? if so with which ones?

A short block is as bare as you can get. Only the front cover & front pulley flange, no oil pan.

Pull with tranny? - about the same, unless the bell housing bolts are stuck.

Engine mounts? solid mounts are only for racing/extreme power.
With my mild mods, I added a torque brace to help the stock mounts.

Yeah, it takes a little "coaxing" to get the tranny and engine to mate up... Which can prove pretty frustrating for someone doing it their first time.
