1. when i start my car first thing in the morring it goes up to about 3 or less and stays there for a few seconds and then goes down to normal idle, is that normal???
2. also when i start it smokes a lil is that normal or do i have a prob ???
3. how high up should my boost gauge go ??
any help i would appreciate it very much

It's called the Accelerated Warm-up System, and is used to quickly warm the pre-cat to lower emissions. It's not good for the engine though, and the solenoid that controls it (called the Air Bypass Valve) should be removed or at least unplugged. It's the cylindrical solenoid in top if the intake manifold. Look in the FSM for pics.

That's funny, coz others have reported the ASW idle speed drops quite a bit when the solenoid is unplugged. The BAC valve was doing some of the work but not all. Weird...
FYI, my JDM car (no pre-cat or AWS solenoid stock) jumps up to ~1500rpm for ~10seconds after a cold start. I presume this is simply a milder version of the system US maodels have.

hey i hate u dammit i want a right hand drive 7 haha j/k, its a s5 with its warm the boost goes up to about where it says x10 or 10x...and yea i'm sure the a-spec 7's are tottaly diff then j-spec and it ****** blows i hate it

Actually there aren't that many differences and most of them are minor and trivial. they're mostly emission-related and don't affect performance, and they usually get removed anyway.

Lol I Went Over To My Friends House 2day And He Has A N/a Body With A J-spec Motor But It Hast Run In About A Year Or 3 But He Has That Same Intercooler U Have Its Tight
