!!!!! Feasability of T-62 on 88 N/A
Ok guys, I'm not up and up on turbo sizes and what not and I will get more info on the turbo in question as soon as possible but for now:
A friend just called and said he brought home a turbo from work (Holset, it's a turbo company) and he thought it might be good for my car if it's not too big and I want it.
The question at hand is what do I need (ASIDE FROM DRIVE TRAIN PARTS) to get this thing running. My brother says standalone EMS and I agree. Anything else you guys could tell me would be great. I've been thinking about this for a while so now that I have the chance I would love to include you all in the process.

you are going to need a hell of a lot of fabricatioin. Look on aaron cakes website for a good write up on turboing and n/a however that was with a stock tII turbo. I believe anything like a t-62 turbo would be to big for your aplication however I am not an expert at all maybe aaron cake will chime in.

from what i have heard you would be better off just selling your NA, swap with TII and then do the turbo stuff, it alows you to learn more, see what you need to replace and upgrade on the TII engine, alot more simple, and if you keep the engine out when you do the turbo swap, its much easier to work on a TII engine when it is out as aposed to in. (i you cant taking off the hood also works)

Yup, take the advice and get a TII. Much better basis with the drivetrain setup.
How feasible? How much you got to spend?
If you want to run with that kind of power, you need not only an EMS, you're going to need larger injectors, new fuel pump, FMIC, a better clutch, etc.

New Project on the Way...

ok for this to be done you will need the following (this is my suggested route)
The turbo
Custom made turbo manifold
at least a 40mm Wastegate
a front mount intercooler and piping
a Good Quality Blow Off Valve
New injectors most likely two sets of 860cc or stock 550cc and secondary 1600cc injectors
A good quality Stand Alone EMS. Motec, Microtech, Haltech, Electromotive, autronic... etc.
Cone airfilter
new downpipe (and exhaust if you don't already have an aftermarket one)
Oil and coolant lines for turbo (if not water cooled then no water lines required)
Silicone couplers for the custom intercooler piping,
hose clamps so the silicone couplers do not come off.
Now the drivetrain
You can keep the N/A drivetrain (do a search on whether you want to or not... because there is some debate)
I would suggest an lsd rear end
Set asside about $500 for incidentals.
I would also suggest rebuildign and porting your engine.

Yes it can be done. It depends on how much money you are willing to spend.
jreynish is pretty close on all you are going to need.
Here is my T62 setup

Thanks to everyone who actually provided some usable information.
jreynish, I would be keeping my current drivetrain for probably a couple months after this is finished, just till I can get more money for the upgrade, but there is the possibility of getting a turbo donor car for that. It also has most of the turbo equipment minus the engine I think. but that's not part of the current plan. The guy wanted too much for it before but it's been sitting for almost a year now. Needless to say, I would be very gentle on the drive train till I got a better one. It's recently rebuilt though, so it should be ok for a while.
Anyway, I looked at the list you gave me and I think I pretty much had all of that in mind, probably a better fuel pump as well. I think you left that off your list. I may be able to make the manifold without too much trouble and the piping for the air shouldn't be too hard.
What intercooler would you guys recommend for this, I have seen people talk about getting ones off of certain cars before to use for front mounts but I can't remember what any of them were.
Stacher, your setup's on a turbo or n/a engine? I didn't look at the picture much longer than it took to drool Anyway, if you could help fill in the blanks that anyone leaves I'd love your help on this.
Also suggestions on blow off and wastegate would be appreciated.
I'm not trying to be original with this setup or anything, I just want something that works.
Thanks again guys.
