fd3s subframe swaps

has anyone seen a fd3s rear subframe swap onto a fc3s? i was thinking it over today and i bet it cant be that hard with a little bit of custom fabrication. the reason i think this is because clearly the diff bolts right up, so if someone had a complete fd3s rear suspension they could simply tighten everything mildly and then bolt the subframe to the fc3s by way of the diff. after thats bolted up and tightened one would simple need to put a some good bottle jacks underneath and break out the measuring tapes to start the fabrication process. has anyone seen this completed? it cant be that hard honestly... the shock towers might need reconstruction... and i guess the difference in width would probably need to be addressed but having never seen it i have no idea. i cant imagine this is that hard in the scheme of things.

bolting the front fd3s subframe and getting the suspension to work is probably a lot harder.... (anyone seen this done?)

Will not work without basically welding in the FD rear floor. The subframes are just too different, and the diffs are very different too, they WILL NOT bolt right up.

ha ok - nevermind then i made the mistake of thinking that since the inside of the pumpkin was the same that the fc/fd diff was the same dimension. thanks for the quick answer...

One more thing, so someone doesn't misunderstand, it is highly unlikely that you can cut out and weld in an FD rear floorpan just like that. It is highly likely that none of the seams will line up.

It'd probably be faster and easier to just make a whole new custom subframe and suspension.

No it doesn't, and what the hell would the point be anyway?

The point would be to get the better FD rear suspension.
