Smile fd3s brake upgrade for fc3s?

while browsing a jap site a few months back & noticed a fc3s with s6 front brake calipers.

im looking into installing them on a s4 savanna t2 if possible?

does anyone know what modification/s (if any) are needed to attach s6 front calipers?

most of you will probably say the standard brakes are quite adquite (true), but the s6 brakes definetely have a nice modern look to them.

any help appreciated

They offer no performance advantage.
They use the same brake pad (size)!

I think you might have only noticed half the components, the popular upgrade in Japan is s6 rotors with Skyline/300z calipers, and yes they work very well.. It works out much cheaper than buying say an endless full/brembo full brake kit, about half the cost..Max

I dont think he cares bout the performance benifits, he just wants to know what is required to install the FD calipers. I wouldnt mind knowing myself, doing to whole FD theme on my FC.

The calipers swap.
The FD brake disc is NOT bolt-in, cause it's slightly bigger.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but do the S6 rotors and skyline/300ZX calipers bolt on, or do they bolt on with an adapter?

4pot FC brakes are just fine anyway. If you need bling get slotted rotors and paint the calipers, sheesh.

Ya I wanna spend about 10k more on the only car made that is less relaible than the FC LOL! As far as I am concerned the performance differances are minor once you start modding. Stock yes the FD wins but once the mods get rollin I don not see much difference. 1/4 mile times are basically the same with similar mods and so on. The only differance is the extra 10k you have to blow on somthing else, and the FC does not look quite as good as the FD. Having driven both a FD and TII I could not really tell what the extra $10k was for besides the fresher looks. Granted I have never driven a bone stock TII .

The TII brakes actually suck ***** compared to alot of other cars, they fade quickly and a loaded TII is not a lightweight car..Once you have more than twice the factory rated horsepower, the bad brakes really show up.. I get one good stop out of mine, thats about it..
They sell a ring to space the hub to fit the FD rotors, or you can buy the RE amemiya remachined hub, the skyline/300z calipers are hold a larger pad and are bigger overall, they require a machined bracket with with a couple of bolts..
I am shopping for one of these kits right now, the best deal seems to be the FEED kit which includes upgraded FD rotors instead of the stockers, and the 96 "R" and up FD rear brake which is bigger than the earlier fd brake and holds a bigger pad as well..
It comes out to about 1600 US which is pretty decent for a full brake kit if you ask me..

Sounds like brake pads sucking more than the calipers.

Ya rotora makes a big brake kit I belive you can get it for $1700. I guess I would just go that route if the FD kit is gonna take me to $1600 to do anyway. I believe the Rotora is 13" rotors and bigger 4 pot calipers. Just my 2 cents. Either way it would be interesting to see some real test results to see just how much better all this stuff is. Anyone gets any info on the real results of all this give us a holla!

I just came across this, and it seems really affordable and would give a reasonable performance increase. Two piece rotors and wilwood dynalight 4-piston calipers. The rotors aren't that thick, though, but for $1000?

Did you now understand the replies?
The calipers are basically identical.

If you're running the 4-pot big brakes, the FD brake calipers are basically the same.
You get no advantage of running the short of being a few grams lighter.

THEY SWAP OUT, YES.

We're doing the same thing right now and it's going to come out to less than 1600 US

The 99spec 'R' brake upgrade is almost done.

We have the rear setup for sale now and are working on the fronts as we speak. Considering the monstrous size of all this stuff it's gonna be a tight fit.
