Ok, gxl88 is my brother. We got his 88 gxl idleing, starting perfect. Now we ran into another problem.. in the process of fixing those issues the car will not rev past 2 grand.. just bogs. This is what we know..
Good Compression *105-110 on all faces*
Fuel System is in operating condition
getting spark
no vacuum leaks we can find *did the carb fluid trick of spraying around all vac lines, nipples, gaskets etc. Fixed the few we found *hence how its not idling, starting issue ended up being a glogged injector which was real easy to fix. Not sure where to go from here. Any suggestions etc let me know.

Put a diagnostic lamp on the ECU, and see if it's throwing any trouble codes. The airflow meter comes to mind as something that could cause this problem - if it's shorted or blown open in certain areas, you could have trouble. Fuel pressure is another big area - a fuel pressure gauge would be a great way to point a finger or eliminate the fuel pressure as a problem.
