God I LOVE this board! The only thing is... I can't believe almost EVERYONE is saying I'll win. However, now there are more stipulations.
We race once I get at least 3K on the motor ( I felt that was a decent break-in period ) with whatever mods I have on the car at that time. ( Should be all those listed... if not more ) Best 2 of 3 on a flat ¼-mile.
However ( stipulation ) because the LT1 is... lacking, her mother wants to put an LT6 in it. If that's the case, and it's being worked on when my 3K is up, we wait for HER break-in period to be up to race. ( It will have no power adders, just a different engine ) But... I'll have more time to mod my car, while she breaks the Imp in.
I doubt this stipulation will come into play, so no worries here.
So in short, there's a MINOR change if the Imp is getting an engine swap when mine finishes it's break in period; but that's about a 1/200 chance.
Also, her new B/F ( My friend Mike ) wants to race me with him driving ( He doesn't think there's a chance of the imp winning, with her driving ) for ***** and giggles. All and all it should be grand. Maybe we should make a bet of this? She always did give great........ oh sorry, more details you all didn't want to hear

Dude i can't believe you're discussing this!!!!!! hands down RX7. I would hand their *** to them when my 87 TII was stock with 144,000 miles and it only ran a 15.2-.4 So pie or not, LT6 7-8-9....who the hell cares. She needs so much more power to get moving. Get grippiy tires, good launch and kiss her and his *** good bye. Screw all this nonsense. Haven't you heard FAT BIRDS DON'T FLY.

There was never a vortec head made for a 305, only 350's(96 and later for trucks, or ordered from GM performance parts), plus there is no way to get a stock LT1 intake manifold on those heads(No matter how hard I tried, it didnt wanna work)
Liquid: Leave your fuel system alone!!! the only thing you need is a SAFC to tune what you have, a new fp and bigger injectors are pointless, cause you to run rich, and you will take a hit in performance(other members in this forum had the same setup and went with those mods and got better results by going back to stock)

So you're saying, after a Stage II Streetport, Full Exhaust, and Full Intake... I'll be better off with the 460cc's & an S-AFC, instead of 460cc primarys, 550cc secondairys & an S-AFC? I was under the impression that I would lean out w/ the intake and exhaust opened so much. I guess the 460cc's could just do a bigger duty cycle tho' huh?

We have an impala and that thing moves out. Beats my Dad's 95 Lightining. I'd say the car is easily in the 14's probably a 14.5-14.7. Even though it's an auto it'll still get rubber shifting into 2nd. Currently the car as a flowmaster catback and a K&N. Watch out for these cars. With a 3.08 rear end the car will only have to shift once to hit 60+mph. Plus these cars have massive torque and we all know torque is the true power the engine has.
