$2200USD for 20B+tranny (all 20b's had auto's)

$525USD for wire harness (harness comes with the ECU, needs to be wired)
---------------------------------
$4000USD total
rest of $6000 for custom parts and everything else (What the hell are custom parts?)

You might want to think about taking it too another mechanic, you wouldn't want someone who is under experienced to be working on your car and charging you for things that you don't need replaced, especially with rotary engines, I have had some mechanics who are very experienced tell me some weird things when I asked if they knew how to do proper work on a rotary.
Given by your initial post I take you are a student, I dont know how your monetary situation is, but given as most students don't have too much cash for their cars a 20B as the others stated can get pricey, not to mention other mods you might have not foreseen coming up. I would suggest simply reading up as much as you can on this site about your options before you go ahead with anything yet. Get the car running good and save the money while you can, buy the Haynes repair manual and do some of the repairs yourself, most people on this forum give excellent advice as well on what to do if you run into problems you cannot diagnose.
These cars are great to have fun with, but as you have already learned they have little quirks here and there and they are old. Good luck with whatever you decide to do with the car and have fun with it.

Well, if your fuel system is a "mod you're not concerned about" then you are planning to fail. Add $10,000 to your budget to replace the motor you just blew.
And again, your "ECU" will not run your 20b, sorry.
What clutch are you going to use?

well look at what you did, all based on a rebuild and all performance. Nobody said that rebuilds are cheap, and besides... my main concerns are the "must do and must have"

Bare essentials to get this motor running in your car. Congrats, you just spent 10k to make 300 hp.

All people are saying is that in order to be realistic, you need to understand how much this is going to cost prior to the build. Thinking you are gonna get out of this cheaper than 20,000 dollars is gonna bite you down the road. I do wish you the best, but paying someone to fabricate peripherals, and wire this thing is going to be hella time consuming and expensive.
Good luck though.

so I just talked to my mechanic again just now, and I need some serious help with this thing...
The main problem is that my FC still surges and still having problems with the idle.
What's wrong more specifically?
1) engine surges
2) some times when you step on the gas pedal, nothing happens.
3) I need an diagnosis ASAP
Bottom line, this is what's been going on.
-New Idle Control Valve was installed, yet nothing changed.
-New Fuel Pressure regulator was installed and yet nothing changed.
-Fuel Pump is running normal, nothing changed.
-Fuel Injectors were cleaned and nothing changed.
-New Spark Plugs installed along with the full tune up, nothing changed.
-Each vacuum seal was checked at least 2 times.
-New Throttle Pressure Sensor was installed and yet again nothing has changed.
-Pedals are fine.
I'm assuming the for the worse case senario.
Got ideas or know what's wrong, lets hear it.
