How about one of these babies:

Notice how it bolts up to the stock airbox brackets. Mariah sells just that closeout panel for $120.

You can't do FTP Vents FOR a CAI, there is no way to get air through everything and into the filter area. You can do vents, like I was planning on, but it's pretty much just to make the front look better by not having the edges of the front bumper visable in the holes.

The money is in the stereo surround, and idiot light surround... the former is the easier of the 2, and the idiot light surround isn't that THICK, so you have to do a lot of tedious work to get it to look right. If you can handle that though, then a set including the Stereo Surround, Demister Grills, Idiot Light Surround, and the plastic peices behind the inside door handles would really accent well, and I would imagine sell like nothing else. (In case you haven't figured it out, I've put a lot of thought into this; my skills with the materials just arn't up to par, I didn't have the money to experiment, and all the people I know who ARE good... are flakes.)

I agree with Liquid, if you can make some awesome interior panels, people will buy 'em like hotcakes. Might as well do something slightly innovative anyway, instead of copying something else. If you're going to do the stereo surround, I'd do the center shifter panel too.

The problem with things involving the airbox, etc... they can be made to do the exact same job, just as well, for a c-note less than you can buy a CF or FG version of the product.

Then when you try and charge the price that they're worth (or that you feell you should charge) you'll get a lot of "I'll just make it out of XXX and save $$$" and other greif.

Gague Pods are the same, been done, and can be done a lot cheaper; same w/ induction headlight covers (FC3S.org even has them in CF).

LOL, I know, that's why I thought harder and recanted in my second post.

Whatever you make, do something nobody else currently makes. Interior parts in CF are hard to come buy for the FC.

Ok what kind of price range would you all be comfortable for a kit: Radio surround and shifter surround, little triangle vents, and a choice of a guage pod or S-AFC holder.

Santiago

EDIT: Add idiot cluster surround

I voted for door panel inserts, but I'm also saying Idiot Light surrounds. Do something that hasn't been done before, and you won't be able to keep them stocked. We all need them or want them, and are definetly willing to pay for.

Please don't take this the wrong way. Take this as simply a warning, and constructive criticism.

If you plan on producing body parts, interior parts, etc. go right ahead. I would certainly appreciate a carbon fibre or aluminium stereo surround (that can be painted to match the OEM piece). HOWEVER, please think long and hard about producing mechanical or performance parts for the car. Designing and producing such components requires skill and above all, EXPERIENCE. There is a certain liability that must be assumed should such a part fail, and KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE are one of the most important qualities a vender can posess.

I have seen so many "newer" enthusiasts set up similar ventures that end up going out of business or worse, staying in business with shoddy products and poor service.

Something to keep in mind.

I think this warning should be extended to the body and interior parts too, not just mechanical stuff. I'll admit to reading this thread with a certain amount of scepticism, simply because you appear to be jumping right into the deep end.

This sort of venture takes more than just enthusiasm, which you're obviously not short of. You need to be able to make quality products and get them all out on time. You only have to read all the "XXX ripped me off!" threads to realise that one slip-up can have a huge impact. Plus you must have the finances to back this up, particularly if it doesn't go as well as you expected.

I highly recommend you start small (one popular product) and build from there. Trying to start a business with a big bang is a mistake that has been made many times before, and rarely succeeds. Make sure you can handle it on a small scale and then work upwards.

I could probably work on the pod aswell.....

...BUT I need a genuine interest from you all not just ok i'll buy forty and then you all are like nah forget it man...

This is serious and I want you all to be happy with the product but you all have to remember that I am still learning this stuff and I yet don't have any CHEAP options for materials yet. CF is not the cheapest thing in the world. if it was I would have your parts already.

Basicaly I want you all to let me know which one or two products you all are most willing to buy if I make them.

Quality seat covers for a vert that fit perfectly and keep the oem look.

There sounds simple doesnt it.

Oh yeah it has to be an affordable price too.
