I really dont care if it is a sports car or not. All I care is that my FC handles(and drifts) better than anything else on the road, and I can make it as fast as I want. Granted the suspension is far from stock, but that adds to the appeal

230-250 hp w/simple mods, 50/50 weight distribution, 5 speed tranny that can handle 400hp, engine that just loves to be reved and begs to be raced, less than 3000lbs. thats a sports car in my book! my 88TII is the best car in the world :D to me anyways! and like some of the guys said, thats what counts....how you feel about your car. not what some one else says, expecially when he's an ignorant fool!

Lot's of opinions here on this subject, but as stated before, who really cares, no rotors no motor right? I traded my beloved 1987 RX-7 NA in for a 1995 Camaro. I HATED that piece of crap! I expected it to "act" like a precision machine like my old RX but it felt like a pig on wheels! After 3 years of this ABUSE, I sold it and got my current TRUE sports car, a 1988 RX-7 TII! Once again driving is FUN, and I am don't see everybody driving the same car I am! To me THAT makes it a sports car!
