If it were me I would fab my own brackets to make it sit lower and have an angle so that it fits the stock bumper with out too much modification to it.

in those pics it looks like that bumper is cut the same as when the cooler is mounted striaght up and down.

Thats why I asked how low it was, because no matter what you cant put the core any further back then the rails of the car will allow it too, I thought it was really low and pitched inward so that the bottom could be further in.

/\ well ya, except there is no need to cut a rectangular hole out of the middle of the bumper.

Because the front sticks out and the bottom is angled in, the IC wont be up so high.

That was my only point i guess.

Black, I can't see that well...are you using spacers at all on those bolts or is your fmic hanging? And did you use anything to go to the bottom mounts on the intercooler or do you think just the 2 bolts are enough. In my exposed fmic pic you can see I bent some metal bar and drilled bolt holes for the bottom mounts.

The setup i have on there now is just hanging temporary. I was curious as soon as i got home from work as to if it would work or not with the stock bumper instead of a fast and furious bumper with the suggestions given, and just did some temporary business

Quite honestly, once this gets further put together when the block is assembled, im going to have to seriously gusset and structurally reinforce all of the stuff in the front and swap suspension from this tein drifter nonsense/IRS to something built for this kinda power. With that comes abusive wheelie time. mmmm, cant wait..

people only cut the large rectangle thinking it will flow or look better, you dont HAVE to cut it all out.

^Well with my stock bumper you see above and only minimal area exposed my water temps were 15F hotter than when I was running no front bumper at all....never got around to testing the exact difference between stock and my shine bumper

i was worried about temp. I guess i can just run water wetter or some **** like that.

Honestly though, im swapping to a remote water pump with a big nasty external water pump so it should fix the problem. May trim out some intake vents or something in the bumper though..

Really? so they don't cut it to expose more of the IC therefor making the air even cooler?

if you mean hacking the bumper from the molding up then yes it will get more air to the cooler, if you mean cutting the grille out of the opening do you really think that improves that much?

When I ran with no bumper I had no better water temps them with a bumper on, so who knows if that large mouth is even doing anything?

ya the bumper molding area was what i was referring to, not the grill lol

Your water temps with the bumper on or off probably didn't change because your thermostat or efan was regulating the water temp??.

Why are we talking about water temp anyway? I'm confused.

Because my front mount made my car run noticeably warmer...that and I don't have an intake temp gauge

listen, I thought we were discussing if you HAD to cut the bumper to fit, which you dont.

People cutting the bumper for thier own cooling benefits is one thing, but you dont HAVE to is what I was saying.

oh okay. For sure. I was just showing a setup to expose the entire intercooler without cutting the bumper up so high
