Yeah, sparks started shooting out from behind me, so I made it home quick (was on the freeway at 3am... about 1.5 exits from my house when it happened), hit my street, popped the hood at 60km/h and got home... slammed on the brakes, opened the hood... ran inside and got water. Very small fire luckily, and I (still) have not noticed any damages, besides some blackening of my hood. Have only driven it MINIMAL miles since the fire, and will be replacing the PD very soon.

Yeah, when I wrapped my speedo, buddy riding shotgun was scared shitless. He didn't really say anything at the time but a few days later he said that he never needs to go fast again, that was enough for him. *****.

Me too. **** racing on public roadways. If I kill myself it's my own damn fault. That being said, I will never push a car to those types of speeds on public roads again.

Speedo said 123, I figure it to be more like 112. If I had a better front spolier, and a rear spoiler, I'd probably puc hit farther, but when the wheels start shaking like that, it's just time to stop. MI 26, BTW.

Rat, my man, I know you don't know this, but the road I was referring to is the entrance to the "Old Sears Point Raceway, now Infineon Raceway", and every Wednesday night, anyone can race their car. Local police and highway patrol sponsor the event, so it is monitered and safe.

If you get up this way, its a kick in the ***, and their "gauges" are accurate.

PEACE THE DOG

My race was equally stupid. I guess I didn't want to back down.

Highway 71 12 PM, lighted street. Only a turn off for a bridge for 5 miles .

I'll never do it again.

Unless I can find an airport.

I so want to go out there at 3 AM and hack one of those things and so when you pass it it reads out some weird number combo (like 20mph over) and see how many people slam on the brakes!

highest i'll ever go is 120 til i upgrade my suspension. only did it twice - once on a highway and the other racing on a stretch of road that bends pretty quicky. i drifted but surprisingly i drifted to the next lane. soooo much fun but scared the **** of me.

I data logged 189 at around 9000 rpm's in fifth gear on my Stack cluster. It is based on a wheel speed sensor and tire diameter that is fairly accurate...

I've done 108 in the quarter..........

I've got her up to 150 off the track, and then was passed by Zkeller in his f'n modded to hell FD like I was standin still.... so i said, "Screw this, my cars slow, I'm not risking loosing my license anymore" and have't taken it above 80 since...

125 going into turn 5 at road america. Had to realy get on the binders, big brake fade, cracked rear rotor. (S5 N/A) only did that once.

Now that I have Cryo Rotors, Hawk pads, and MOTUL in my TII. I am excited to see what it will do next year.

Maybe 140 into turn 1 at MAM.
150 into turn 1 at BIR.

Turn 5 at RA still scares me too much so i doubt ill get to crazy going into that turn.

Burried the speedo at 260km/h on a 400-series highway. I had a GPS in the car which shows speed accurate to +/- 5km/h though, and it read 165-170 all the way. I was in the top of 5th gear, at like 6500rpm if I recall, for almost 2 hours on the way to Mosport. Drove the car around on the skidpad all morning, watched a big drift event which I was volunteering at (Driftnation's DX2 for anyone local), then drove home a little over 2 hours at 180-200 the whole way.

Blew a rotor the next day, lol. That's what ya get for running top speed for close to 4 hours with factory oil system and bad coolant seals on a bone stock motor.

I've since built a streetport motor with a baffle and upgraded the cooling system and had no troubles since... even did a similar run at an average of around 230km/h for close to 7 hours (~3.5 hours each way) to Shannonville and back. Haven't topped the motor out yet though. She's turbo now but I haven't had the car back on the road to test it yet.

I tracked both motors, and have no idea what I topped at while on the straights as I don't tend to look at my speedo when on the track... I know I heard the buzzer at the top of 5th a couple times on the Fabi straight at Shannonville though.

*gets flamesuit on*

is top of 5th gear even able to get to without **** loads of torque?? im a really big noob about that whole concept..maybe someone can clarify.

I know for a fact that the nonturbo s4 just doesnt have enough juice to climb in 5th gear. unless my motor completely sucked

151 on a long straight road, until I saw a 90 right turn coming up, by the time I was at the turn my brakes were no longer slowing the car down, at least by then I was doing about 40 and the car took the turn pretty easily. It was fast, lines in the road look like one solid blur on video.
