which exhaust?
I'm looking at getting a new exhaust setup for my '88 turbo. I like the Apexi N1 dual exhaust .
http://www.rx7store.net/index.asp?Pa...ROD&ProdID=300
But it is $590. Plus it says it is twice as much for shipping. So that would be like $850
Is there a cheaper alternative that will give added performance over the stock setup and look nice? I really like the dual exhaust look. No HUGE ricer coffee can exhaust though.
Thanks in advance...

It says the $570 one is for the non turbo, I have a turbo...
I don't know if shipping would really cost that much on the apexi but on another one it says it is freight for $125. and the dual says it is counted as two for shipping.

Well you said you liked the dual tips... but just a suggestion, the Corksport cat-back is very nice even though its a single tip. great quality and price...

Well then why the hell are you getting Apex'I N1's? They have 4.5" tips.
Buy Racing Beat exhaust.

Thanks for the link. I like that cork sports titanium cat back.
On that website they have a pic of a cool 2nd gen rx7 w/ a cf hood. I looked but didn't see the hood on their site. Do you know where I can get one?
The Apexi does look a little big... Plus they say it is really loud. I don't want my car to be that loud. Awww screw apexi... lol
^^^ who is that in your avatar?

Anything comming from corksport for exhaust is going to be loud as **** and huge with the tips also.
Don't spend your money on ricer crap like carbon fiber hoods. Dollar for dollar your money is far better spent on other modifications like added fuel, ignition componens, intercooler, and turbo parts.

I wouldn't do the hood now. First I want to have my turbo rebuilt and upgraded. I'm looking at a front mount intercooler right now too. The cheapest I've seen so far was $1800. Know any cheaper ones?
Would a silencer tone the noise down to acceptable levels?

FMIC I think rx7store.net has them for like 1300 but other than that you would have to make it custom to be cheap.
I haven't noticed much of a difference with silencers in place with either the CS exhaust or the N1 duals. My answer would be NO.

having just finished installing my corksport catback this morning and taking it out for a drive, it its a deep mellow tone, not loud at all, and man you can really feel the extra oomph! i definitely reccommend it. i have a RB downpipe, presilencer, and the rest is a 3" corksport catback.
btw the CF hood is at fc3s.org

Cork Sport Sounds worse than ApexI I dunno whats wrong with people's ears in his town. Also its a single exhaust with a HUGE tip like that of N1's.

I just found a RB FULL exhaust setup for my car for $780, that's not bad considering it has a downpipe and cat.
http://www.rx7store.net/index.asp?Pa...ROD&ProdID=602
Then with that I need a RB fuel cut controller. Then the stock boost guage doesnt work right, so I need a new one, which I want to get anyways. So tack on another $200 to the cost of the exhaust plus all the shipping. That's alot of $$$

The Racing Beat "FULL" exhaust doesn't use a catalytic converter at all. IF your state/area has emmissions testing you will have to either swap in the stock exhaust with a cat or make a custom cat for the system. If you have no emmissions disregard.

i got the 3" piping, its the turbo model catback but i made that **** fit on my N/A, cause i bought it off a guy on here and he said its the N/A model.... yeah riiiight.
i have my stock exhaust manifold to RB downpipe to RB presilencer to the 3" CS catback. the RB components are 2.5". I'm ditching the downpipe though and putting on RB headers soon, THAT will make it loud, but for now it isn't loud at all compared to the civics around here with the bumblebee fart can exhaust. its sounds great
