Error Codes for S5 TII

Hi,
I have a problem with my S5 Turbo: It's not starting properly. As I havn't found faulty wires or tubes, checking for error codes seems to be the next step.

The Problem is, I don't have a check engine lamp. I found this Link, but I'm not sure I can use it.
I have the 6 pin diagnosis connector, but only 3 pins are used. Additionaly I have a single green Connector, which needs be grounded for diagnosis (FSM).

Any idea, how I can get the error codes?

Ahh the link you're looking at there is for the S4 cars.. Go look in the S5 FSM, you ground or jumper with one of the green connectors, turn the car to ON, and look at the check engine light's blink pattern [in your clock/idiot cluster]

Annoyingly.. The FSM gives you a graph to read the errors from :/

There's an alternative method. Look at post #2 in the link.

Hi,
sorry that it took so long to reply, but I took some time to test it.

My connectors in the front look like this:

I tried your idea of putting a lamp between ABR and DCC1, but nothing happend. Even if this would work, there is no DCC2 pin to get the higher codes.

Am I reading this wrong? Maybe its because I only use a 12V lamp and no LED...

I'm also still searching for the check engine light, as everybody tells me, my car should have one. It should be in the middle Dashboard, right?

Can anyone post me a picture with the check engine light on?

There are three wires in the larger plug. One is for ABR and this wire is Black/White coded, one is for DCC1 and the other is for DCC2. An LED light is supposed to be used because using an ordinary 12 volt light w/o the proper resistor can damage the ECU, and this was stated in the link provided. And of course the single wire plug needs to be grounded before turning the key to on to initiate the procedure. I suggest you reread the link for checking codes for an S4 as all the details are there to use for how and what to use to make the light reader and how to connect it up.
