Erebuni will start selling Carbon Fiber FC hoods NA/TII if.......
#26
Honestly I would rather buy from FC3S over Erebuni.
It's because I am supporting the rotary community. Not a company with some nasty generic kits.
Also $700 shipped for a Carbon fiber TII hood is a reasonable price.
They make these things one at a time. The quality of mine is damn good(although there is some small chipping of the top gelcoat on one edge).
If some one made a CF hood w/ functional reverse scoop then I would buy it when I go front mount. It will just atake a long time due to financial problems.
SD The front bumper looks pretty sweet. I woudl buy one from you guys if I had the money.

I would never buy anything from erebuni. I've seen a lot of kits from them come horriblly packaged and damaged in the process. I would rather pay the extra for the fc3s hood.....which I did. Its perfect and I have no complaints.

well, IMHO, it doesn't hurt to have erebuni make the hood. the more people making it, the cheaper it will be.
also, the place where erebuni has an advantage, is that they are fairly well known , where as FC3s.org is probably unheard of outside of the few websites for FC's around the internet. and believe it or not, a LOT of people that modify their FC's don't post on these forums all the time, in which case, probably do not know about the FC3s.org hood, where as they will see erebuni parts advertised in their favorite car magazine or whatever.

i think an underlying problem that many people think about is the fact that they don't want to buy a hood that needs to be shipped to them. i certainly don't. it's so very easy for it to get damaged (even with proper packing) that it's just something i for one would never want to have to worry about. i wouldn't buy a hood that i couldn't go pick up myself.
that said and done...if i needed a new hood and went CF, i'd definately get the FC3S hood over any erebuni, but not until i had been trying to locate an AL hood for a goodly amount of time.

IMO it's going to be really tough to sell a CF hood unless it has a significant style difference that appeals to the younger FC owners.

Most race teams just make their own parts. I'm not sure who is offering CF parts to the public right now, but you can get cheap fiberglass race parts here:

i agree about buying from fc3s.org. I bought a body kit from erebuni and it took 3 1/2 months to arrive and nobody seemed to know where it was. every time i called they put on the phone with 4 different people and hold times were insane. couldn't give me a tracking # until day before arrival. chipped to **** when recieved, called them and thats normal was reply. didn't fit, had to do modifications to kit, mold sideskirts and it cost a lot of money to have done. + had to pay xtra for corrective bodywork. they blame bodyman even though took it to three places. On the other hand bought cf gauge pod from dave and it was cracked on the edge when recieved. Called him next day and recieved another three days later without even getting any damage verification. Now thats service. screw erebuni they suckass.

OK forgot to add one more thing. Some companies do not use full CF for their hoods.
Your $3-400 hoods may just be fiberglass bodied hoods with a CF overlay.
The FC3S hood is full CF with Fiber glass under frame. Not just a layer of CF over a normal FG hood.

look man, i make this stuff and plan on having my own website soon with my own products and my own custom hoods as well as other stuff but I will tell you from what i have seen and from what I have understood from someone that can manufacture this stuff that FC3S is everybit worth what they charge and looks to be a great buy. If there is anyone that has anything to gain by saying that it wouldn't be me but I prefer to be honest especially when there is a great product on the market.

Dave's Hood are Top Notch, you go to Japan and find a hood of similar quality do the exchange rate and don't even count shipping and as far as I have found you would be spending 700+ for a similar quality hood... You guy's really don't know what you are talking about... (some of you do most don't)

scathcart (no offense, I just read one of your posts) and everyone else... i dont think it is that fc owners are cheap, though they might be... its just that society is making the (very) limited, if any, CF skills that everyone has, justify their high prices.
i realize that it takes r&d to get it started... but why not use the first few hoods to cover the cost of it, (R&D)... then start charging according to the actual cost of the hood, and man hours...
do doctors REALLY NEED to be paid 200 dollars an hour? no, not really, but they save peoples' lives... I dont see many CF hoods saving peoples' lives.
just because someone is the only one to do something at a cerain point, that doesnt make it ok to gouge prices does it?? does society make it seem reasonable to make the RX7's hoods more expensive than a civic's?
