Engine wont start!! help!!!
#28
Ill sit there for hour after hour just cranking the engine because Im too pour to but the things I need for it!
But I dont even get spark from the coil itself! I tested all four coils and only the leading had spark, so I figure Ill get new wires and a good set of trailing coils!

The LEAD coil is all that is required to start and successfully run a RX-7. No trail coil or plugs needed. IF it won't start on the LEAD coils, then there is something basic wrong with the engine. Either NO fuel or so severly flooded that you need to pour oil in the rotors to re-establish some oil on the rotor seals etc..
Fuel: pull the RETURN line off the engine. It should be the rear line at the engine, the one that IS NOT GOING TO THE FILTER. Now jumper the fuel pump check connector and put the key to ON. Fuel should flow from the hard line on the engine where the RETURN line was connected.
Or simply just jumper the fuel pump check connector and key to ON, and listen for fuel continuously flowing in the fuel rail back to the fuel tank. It should flow all the time.
IF you have fuel, then put some oil in the rotors. Get a piece of soft vinyl tubing at the store. About a couple of feet long. Pull the bottom plug on each rotor housing. Screw the half inch outside diameter vinyl tubing into the sparkplug hole. You won't have to screw it in more than a half inch or so. Now pour oil in the tube while at the same time rotating the engine over using the fan belt/a/c belt. You turn the engine over so each of the THREE rotor chambers gets oil fed to it. Do the same to the other rotor.
Then reinstall the plugs and have a go at it again. You have spark, you said so, and if you hear the fuel in the rail flowing, you have fuel for the injectors. All that is needed now is rotation by the stater.
Make sure you did not leave any of the three ECU plugs off the ECU.
EDIT; I see I've posted here before. Oh well. You didn't seem to answer if the fuel pump is working or not. IF you hear fuel flow when the key is ON and the fuel pump check connector is jumpered, then fuel should be there at the injectors.
Buying TRAIL coils assy and fuel pump seems a mistake. The money would be better spent buying a Digital multimeter for ?? 20-30 bucks (half tank of gas at this moment in time).

Alright well I just quit on trying to start it and started tearing the engine apart. I am currently waiting to remove the engine itself so I can prep the engine bay for bed liner and the 502 bbc
