I bought this 88 gxl for 300bucks. This guy was told by a shop the engine had no compression. A teaspoon of ATF in each chamber and the motor came back to life. I ran it for over 2 years and just sold the car last month. So ATF worked for me. Some people will dispute that and say to use oil. Go ahead and use what you have. But definetly do it.

Use motor oil. At least that way its supposed to be in there to rebuild compression, ATF on the otherhand has no reason to be in there.
