I'd like to point out that I too have 1 old gigantic POS truck jack, 4 stands (Actually 8, 4 are under my dad's car because he's on location right now and doesn't want flat spots... I plan to steal them for a while), and 1 LOW *** RX7. And I'm gonna be (hopefully) completely swapping everything from my car (because it's mostly all in great condition) to another car. All on jacks. It should be interesting. I'll take pictures.

I'm really actually starting to wonder. Did these cars come stock with a 5" clearance? The springs on my car look FUCKED UP (very) and I was wondering if maybe they were cut by the last owner. ;( Ghetto! I have pics I'll post sometime.

when you take out the exhaust replace all the bolts and nuts. MAke sure they are all the same size for future consideration. makes that second time a breeze.

Wow you guys must be strong to bench press the tranny. (or maybe im just a weakling)

So I will also put on a turbo back exhaust but will I need anything else so it wont blow up?

BTW thanks so much for all the help, tips, and stories... Keep 'em comming.
This is what the 3rd gen section useto be like but now its people just yelling at each other about reposts and people reposting crap, like which bov is the best.

i'm not that big either. the tranny isn't that heavy compared to others. bench it up, then use the knee. hehe, the knee works good for installing exhausts too...not that rich so improvision is a must in the rx-7 world... i saw my buddy's 240sx tranny and that was big.

using your knees while trying to fit the tranny back into the engine? wow, strong bones. i remember when i changed the tranny on my n/a. i did it on my friend's driveway and he lived on a hill, so the driveway wasn't really flat (and smooth either). i bought a tranny lift, hoping it would help, but it wouldnt go under with the tranny strapped on to it. wasted a good $100 for it.

4 arms, two knees, all this talk of the effort i get tired just reading it

make your own floor trans jack!

took me about 10 minutes with a welder, plasma cutter, scrap steel and 1 bolt - if you dont have the tools I am sure you know someone who does

bolt goes in front with a piece of scrap steel to rasie the front angle of the tranny
