Engine Temperature Problem

i have a 1988 convertible and my temp is always 1/2 also it has gone up to 3/4 when i run it hard i have been told that that is not normal for a s4. also my car dint have a thermostat when i bought it is that a big issue? the car has an aftermarket fan but it seems to be working fine. i changed the radiator fluid and put peak 50/50 also did an oil change valorine racing oil 20w50. what could be the cause of the problem and what steps can i take to try and resolve it. any info will help.

What you're telling us is basically useless.
We need hard numbers to get a better idea of what is going on.
According to the owners manual, what you are seeing is perfectly normal.
