I am actually suprised that reaspnable crate motors don't exist. Heck, i can get one for my explorer cheaper than a moderatly priced rebuild.

yeah, I'm all in favor of cheaper crate motors. Maybe with the re-release of rotary engines in the u.s. we might see a drop in price?

supply and demand, it's all that matters

I thought you could get new crate motors from the factory?? At least for a NA. While looking for my rx7 i came across one with a new crate.

he meant reasonably priced. You can get crate motors, they're just expensive.
