http://s589.photobucket.com/albums/s...24/13b%20what/ can someone help me out on if this is a s5 pr 5s engine, i bought this car from a guy claiming its a jspec s4 motor in a s5 body, the intention was to swap this into my 88 vert, but after examining the wiring harness and ecu im not sure, any input is much appreciated, considering this is my first donor car purchase

why are the harness plugs so much different , for the dash harness , between the 2 ecus

It is an S4 J-spec engine, but that's an S5 J-spec ECU. S4 and S5 ECUs have different plug shapes. You need an N332 or N333 US-spec S4 ECU & matching harness. Whatever the previous owner did to make S4 electronics mix with an S5 ECU you don't want any part of. Wire hacking galore.
