Is this the Engine Ground wire???
I'm looking to beef up my grounds...starting with the engine ground. Is this the wire? (I just thought it would have been thicker!)
What gauge should I use to redo this one?
btw, the car is a S5 n/a.

Question #2:
Here is the back (bottom side) of the "pressure sensor".
which wire is the one that needs to re-grounded?
As you can see there are 5 wires, one green and two pairs of brown.
Can I re-ground the wire (whichever one it is) to the back of the mounting bracket of the pressure sensor which bolts to the strut tower?
What gauge wire should i use for this one?
Thanks in advance!

NO its not.
Its one of the many.
the MAIN engine ground is located behind the oil filter on the tranny bell housing flange.
Its part of the harness that dives tward the starter.

Re: Is this the Engine Ground wire???
Like Sniper said, it’s not the main ground, it’s one of several. There’s no need to remove that one, just add some more. I added three additional ground wires, all 8GA; one in the same place as the one you indicated (bellhousing to firewall), one from the back of the inlet manifold to the firewall and one from the battery negative post to one of the leading coil’s mounting bolts.

I was told to do one from the negatin\ve battery terminal to the chassis, and one from the positive terminal to the nut on the alternator. Never got around to it though...

On a 86-88, the brown/ black wire would be the ground for the boost/pressure sensor. I DO NOT have a electrical schematic for your year car. I'm fairly sure its the brown/black wire. Get a digital meter out and ohm the black/brown to the neg terminal on the battery. Should be less than one ohm. Prefer .0025.
Someone with a 92 manual help the guy out.
IF the black/brown reads less than one ohm, I would not add an extra ground there. Would seem adequate at less than a ohm. Key off when checking the resistance, please.

Try Alcno marine wire from West Marine. Each strand is tinned. I ran 10 gage from block through fire wall gromet to ECU (91 NA) harness ground point (5 black wires in one plug) then to the bolt on the ECU bottom left.
