engine fire
I just recently bought a 1988 SE for $200.
It had an engine fire that caked the passenger side of the engine.
I was hoping that someone could take some pictures of they're engine so I can see what all I need to pick up.
I already bought an engine harness and sensors.
I know I need to pick up some vacum hoses and new injectors.
I also need a picture of the fuse box for inside the car.
The guy took out all of the fuses for some reason.
Also which side of the engine are the 5th and 6th port actuator located?
Any pictures or ideas would help out a lot.
This summer I'm planning on rebuilding a rotary, for some experience.

Air control valve is on the passenger side between the aux port (aka 5th and 6th port) actuators. Fuel rails if they are damaged, upper and lower intake manifold if they are damaged. They are aluminum and you didn't say or show pics of the extend of the damaged caused by the fire.

Well it melted the wire harness on the passenger side, and melted the intake tubing and what ever was mounted on the firewall.
I blackend the intake manifold, but I dont know if it damaged it quite yet. It is a darker color now.
I wish I had a digital camera or a scanner so I could show you, but it almost looks like the harness caught fire and burnt the passenger side of the engine. I need to replace the injectors, because it melted them too, but I am just trying to get it running for now.

If you want to repair it, and you don't want to spend allot of money. Get a hold of Chris at Banzai Racing, he has all the parts you’re looking for and doesn't ask an arm and a leg for them, here's a link.http://banzairacing.net/

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
You should get the FSM, or even a Haynes. Both will have the pictures you need as well as routing information for the lines, and electrical information for the harnesses.
Just looking at pictures people too here will not help you, as probably 80% of the people here have done some sort of modifications to the engine, as well as pictures will not be as detailed as you will need if you are not strong on these engines and setup.
Use the factory shop manual. Links for online versions can be found in the FAQ for FC thread at the top of this section.
See here is the average picture of a 86-88 non turbo engine, with only very slight modifications...:
... are you telling me that this could help you with anything???
