Exclamation Engine Bay Clean Up Help!!

Ok. Currently, my engine bay looks like this:

I pulled my engine cause I'm replacing it with a jspec, and I'm waiting a lil while longer til I can afford it. Well, in the down time, I wanna empty my engine bay as much as possible, clean it out, paint it black (gonna eventually paint the whole car black), and replace it with as little as possible. Well I have been weary of pulling all of those things in the picture out. Some of them I don't even know where they go to. My question is, how hard would it be to remove everything in the engine bay so that it is open enough to prep it and paint it. And more importantly, how hard is it to get it back together. Also, if anyone knows any of those things in that pic that can be permenently removed, lemme know. I do need to pass emmissions, so I only wanna remove emmissions stuff if I can put it back when the time comes.

In the end I want my engine bay to look even cleaner and more open than this:

Just wanna make sure I'm not getting in over my head before I start.
Help Me out Yo!

I see the cap to the cold start assist reservoir back there. That container in left corner next to firewall. Looks like you already took A/C out... Put manual steering rack in if not already, cant really tell. I'm kinda doin the same thing as you right now.

edit: I meant to say rip the reservoir out too. They are good for nothing.

Wow, that 2nd one is a PRETTY engine bay. Seriously, someone needs to post like a How-To or something to get your engine bay THAT clean. One for smog legal, and one for "other" Man, I would love to have my bay look THAT clean. Guys, anyone know of a site that helps out with this?

Steve

Ok, so I'll take out my cold start assist.
My manual rack is on the way.
A/C and P/S gone.
Cruise Control Gone
Anything else I can take out?

Also, how hard is it gonna be to put all that stuff thats in the picture currently back in if I take it out to paint it?

Just use your head and take out whatever brackets and what not that you dont need. Other little things like throttle body mod help to keep it looking clean too.
As far as the painting, I'm sure that its a pain in the ***. I suggest lots of pictures and labeling and baggies.

Charcoal Canister. The black cylinder next to the passenger side strut tower. You will need to cap off the lines, or the engine will smell of fuel. Illegal, but I did it!!

Hey Guys, this is what that car's engine compartment looks like now. I bought the car from the Triple Threat Motorsport Team. This car has everything imaginable stripped from it. All emissions removed. All of the sylinoids on top of the enging gone. That whole cluster of metal lines that are mounted to the top of the engine are gone. A custom fuel line had to be made to replace the original. The BAC valve removed, dont need it if you dont have AC. Make a custom blockoff plate. All of the emissions stuff off the side intake manifold gone (no cats, evil). The cone filter allows one to remove some bulky items on the left side. The items mounted on the front of the strut tower were relocated to the rear of the strut tower. There are a lot of vacume lines that have bolts plugging them up. These guys did a phenominal job on this car, serious 7 enthusiasts.
