End link bushing problem...

I put in some of my end link bushings and ran into a problem (shock...). When I press the sleeve in it makes the polyurethane part pop out the side. I tried holding it in my press for about an hour and it still popped back out when I let it go.

Below is a picture of what's going on. It's the same end link in both pictures, just flipped around.

The top one shows the side view of how it looks with no metal sleeve pressed in (how I would assume it should look).

The bottom one shows the side view of how it looks with the metal sleeve pressed in and the bushing popping out.

Is this fine to leave like that? Any way of fixing this?

Install it and the bolts will compress them into place.

Its really a poor design anyway.

you a 100% sure theres no steel sleeves still in the endlink? I had the same problem with my rear control arms b\c my origionals were so bad the rubber just popped out and i couln't see the steel sleeves until i ground every little bit of rubber and dirt off of them.

^^yeah^^

The rear control arm sleeves are easy to miss, I did that the first time I changed a set also

These babies just seem to fit like that - there's not much you can do other than grind either the inside of the link or the outside of the bushing - or do what I did and just cram them in there.

Yeah, I'm sure there's nothing left. All the previous rubber was removed via peeling/acetone/fire.

yup same thing happened with mine, once you install them into the car it will compress back together. just keep in mind that on the rear endlinks one side is larger then the other.
