Emergency brake light won't come off

The emergency brake light (or hand brake) won't come off when I disengage the hand brake. The car, a 1988 TII, just got installed a brand new master brake pump but the problem was there even before that so I guess it's not a stuck floater sensor. Any clue? Maybe electric?

Thanks

You might try connecting the pins on the wiring harness plug for the MC in the bay to rule out that float being an issue. Then there is a wire by the e-brake that you can check to make sure it's connected properly.
