Emanage Curiousity
#27
Wiring for the e-manage is well documented as far as the fc3s goes. There really isn't any need to read at all - there are diagrams for every harness that needs to be installed.
I'm not sure why anyone would bother tuning a boosted car off of TPS. Just like the safc pressure sensor hack, tie in the oem pressure sensor voltage to the grey TPS wire coming off of the e-manage. It's really simply to calibrate as well:
Hau's software can do the same thing as the gold emanage - log wideband inputs through the unused second maf wire as well as autotune. Look in the engine management forum.
1. Have your laptop plugged in, and un plug the pressure sensor with the car in the ACC position
2. Discconect the pressure sensor hose from anything that's it plugged into (UIM, etc..)
In the other end place a basketball/bike pump
3. Click on the throttle set up - Open Throttle. This will set open throttle at 0 volts.
4. When the e-manage screen says to close the throttle all you need to do is start pumping the bike pump. One or two pumps will be fine. As long as there is a spike to 5 volts (max pressure sensor output) the setting will be just fine.
Congrats - now you are tuning the afm voltage off of boost pressure and not tps.
Now althought the map will still say TPS - all those percentage numbers do is represent a percentage of 5 volts. To find out what boost pressure corresponds that what voltage output use the following 2 formulas. The stock pressure sensor will max out around 14-15 pounds.
Out(V) = 0.169V/psi*P(psi) + 2.318V
P(psi) = (Out(V) - 2.318V)/0.169V/psi

manipulates the signal from the afm... And if this is the case then why would it be able to run cars that come with a with a map sensor, and not be able to run the fc using a map..

the e-manage cna increase the pulse width of the duty cycle of the injector if you have them wired in.
I ahve all the extensions hooked up.
I also have a LM-1 wide band with and RPM Aux box that i will log both to my laptop in real time
With the blue to gold upgrade there are 3 things that i saw to get the blue to be 1
Physical electronic board soldering (2places 1 wire and short of 2 pins on a chip)
the firmware
and the software..

im ordering the main unit soon but already have the two harnesses. does the main unit have these diagrams for install? becuase, the japanese ones with the harness are stupidly difficult to understand.

theres a emanage gold on ebay, i could pick it up for about the same as i would spend on a blue with injector and ignition wireing harnesses and maby a pressure sensor. should i?>

i've found the pics for how to change the blue to gold

yeah the pics are kinda sketchy and would rather not guess with my 300 dollar electronics.
ive been hearing quite a few people having problems with there emanage. one was a turbo miata guy by me and someone else with a GSX. the miata guy works for a dyno shop and im pretty sure he knows what hes doing. it could be electrical related but he is getting some funny *** spiking. hmmm...
