Electrolysis gas fuel tank rust

Hey guys, so I've done a lot of research on electrolysis for rust removal because my fuel tank is bad...but I haven't come across anyone that's done it on car gas tanks, only motorcycle. Should be the same for car gas tank if I use the same proportions of water/washing soda right? Has anyone actually done this?

better option would be to just find a car at a local wrecker or one being parted out near you.

there is no solution for rust in the gas tank, it WILL come back no matter how well you seal the inside. aside from that, the rust has already thinned the metal and is causing potential leak spots. fuel leaks aren't something you want to wait for.

or a good used tank, mazda will make you walk sideways for a new one.

i've had tanks treated before, they always rust again no matter what. my REPU tank looked like swiss cheese after it sat for a bit and had a recondition tag on it from a local shop that repaired it, attempted to fix motorcycle gas tanks also but they eventually started to rust again too as well as some other older cars, once the plating wears off they're done.

there are some aftermarket shops that make new tanks also, you can find a new replacement for probably about $200-250 brand new.

I can pick up a used one from pick a part for about $65 bucks. If there's no sign of rust on the inside of that would that be a good thing to trust?

yep, just make sure you wash it out with a few gallons of gas and filter it before using it again(or dispose of it if it's a turbo car, or use it in your DD non turbo).
