electrical problems! hazard lights on, red line buzzer, shift light etc etc.

OK I had stripped my entire car and now installed haltech. The car runs great but as soon as I turn the key to run the shift light comes on, a constant buzzer goes off, and the hazzard lights are blinking??

Now I havent been able to get back to the car since its far away, but I do know that there are two plugs under the shifter/arm rest that I havent plugged in yet.

There is plenty of coolant in the car and both plugs are connect on the RAD, top and bottom.

The hazzard lights go off after 5-6 sec of the car running. I painted my alternator case, and am wondering if I need to reground the case to the chassis.

Well basically it is driving me crazy, and to boot when I lengthened the wires going to my transmission (t2 swap, 5spd) there was 1 connector left over.
Anyone know what its for?

First, you bumps have been deleted. Bumps are forbidden here in the 2nd gen RX-7 Technical section.

#2 If the hazards are blinking your hazard light switch is on. If it is not on, then you have shorted the security system.

#3 The shift light is controlled by the ECU. If it is on, you have grounded the wire at the ECU when installing the Haltech or your CPU (body computer) is not seeing the alternator working.

#3 Buzzer means that there is not a ground on the sensor wire for the coolant or ground on the sensor wire for the oil level. I would guess you probably chopped out the wire for the coolant sensor when you "stripped" your entire car.

Thanks Iceman, I did not know that bumps where prohibited. I'm sure there are in the sticky, so it is my fault.

1. Yes the hazard button is off when the lights flash so I will have to remove the security system then.

2. I will attempt to reground the alternator to see if this helps the shift up light problem. I still think it has to do with the unplugged clip next to my shifter.

3. My coolant sensor wires (all three two on the bottom one on the top of the RAD) are connected. I am not too sure where these would need an additional ground. Also my oil level sensor....if it is on the oil pan, its connected. There is this one wire sensor that is just to the right of the oil dipstick when looking at the block from the drivers side, I dont really know what this is.

I ask these questions becuase my roomate is out of town with the helms manual, so I seek advice here. I sense a bit of sarcasm with the "stripped" but you have to understand when you get a bare chassis and swap in a T2 motor with haltech on a car you have never worked on before, there can be lots of little things that you dont know what they are, and if they are needed.

But thanks for the info so far....
