Electrical problem with 88 GTU?

Help guys,
Last night I get ready to go home and fire up my 88 GTU and the car fires & starts right away as usual but....

I am getting a very strange feedback sound threw the speakers...
Same thing this morning...

Its quite loud and comes threw the speakers even with the stereo off (Stock unit)

I noticed my Alt. gauge is pegged as high as it would go...But only when the car is cold?

While using the defroster, I notice that the fan motor seems to be changing or flucuating speeds (On its own)

I have a fairly new Alt & Battery...
The belts seem to be at a proper tightness...
Any ideas?
Thanks much for any imput!

Sounds like the alt lost a diode or two, or the regulator has failed.

Do not drive the car if the voltage gauge is above 15 volts. You will start burning out electrical parts as most parts are designed for a maximum of 16 volts.

Thanks much Icemark!
