I use it all the time to save myself from looking stupid.
Of course, correcting yourself is a great way to get the old post count up!

I run a severely modified set-up, with a moroso drag pump. My alternator no longer resides in the stock location. This pump is not meant for the street, and extreme caution should be followed when using it. I am just wreckless, I guess.
I ordered a Meziere Rotary electric water pump and adapter before I left, and should be able to give it a review when I return home in august. This pump would be fine for the street, and they offer both a race and street set-up. Cost of around $290+$80 for the block adapter from summit racing.
I really don't recommend this mod. It is by no means necessary, and the custom work required is dumb. The stock cooling system works great, and there are tons of better places to spend your cash.
I bought it b/c I can afford to waste money on 1/3 hp gains. I also like being able to circulate the coolant after the motor is turned off and running the fan at the same time so heat soak isn't an issue. I also like being able to optimize cooling flow regardless of rpm, and no cavitation at high rpms. I also have a higher amperage alternator, as the extra load placed on the charging system from the current draw of an electric pump is too much for the stock alternators.
I'm curious to see how the meziere pump will bolt on and allow use of the stock alternator, but really, this is not a very economical mod.
EDIT: This mod is not for you. I just re-read your post. There is almost no hp gains, and cooling really isn't affected. This mod is for those with money to waste, or racing motors.
I only tried it b/c I was curious, and I am getting the meziere pump b/c I have money to waste.

I race EMOD in autocross and was talking with a fellow EMOD driver running a supercharged Rotary in a Sprite.
He is running a remote Meziere pump on a race only app. and it peaked my interest for an FC.
Thanks for helping out a "newbie" .
