Electric superchargers

Please don't laugh too hard.

How much would you pay for such a device? Would it even fit on a 87 N/A?

I'm not sure exactly...but I believe that a piece of it may have broken off and gotten somewhere that it wasn't supposed to.

Yes it did. It was quite the situation at the time.

So would this thing fit on an RX-7? My fiance had one (the same one that later ruined the engine in the aforementioned Probe GT, actually) on his past '96 Mustang GT for a while with no problems.

Sounds like the type of item that'll somehow fit on most anything, I think.

Guarenteed 5-15 hp (see ad) means guarenteed 5 hp, which is what you would expect with the cone intake alone. My rule of thumb is $20 per horsie, so I would pay $100 max if I was sure that it would work reliably without taxing my cars alternator!

Can you put the thing in series with a NOVI 3000? :-)

Put two in and have them pull air from a used intercooler. That's the only combination I haven't heard of. Would the cumulative effect be 2psi of cold air? I personally like the idea of an electric supercharger—just needs to be refined and a lot cheaper. I think if these things were $50–$100 they'd be a lot more popular. I'm tempted to call the manufacturer and see if I can't get one as a demo unit to review for the forum.

That'd be a great idea. Rotaries respond much better than piston engines when it comes to forced air induction. And they haven't reviewed one on their site yet. They might think of it as a market niche if the trial proved successful.

I think $300 is a total waste tho. $150 max.
