I have a 87 turbo II and want to ad a 16 inch electric fan. I'm looking for info on how to do it, and what to buy. Hopefully i can do it well and relativly inexpensive.

Well, Usually if you buy an aftermarket fan, it comes with the wiring and accessories you will require... If you want to go the cheap way (nothing wrong with that)....Here is what you need:

1. A fan (obvioulsy)...A lot of people recommend the big ones of old Ford Taurus's. Get one from a junkyard. Very cheap.
2. A switch AND/OR a thermal switch
3. A relay rated to handle the amperage your fan is putting out
4. Wire red and black 10-12 guage
5. Zip-ties

My fan runs from a switch I custom installed into the center console, right next to the fuel cutoff switch. This switch activates the relay that runs my 12-blade fan. If you need exact wiring diags, let me know. but anyone with some basic electronics background can do the job.

Brian D Cain runs a fan from a Fiero GT on his 400+ hp daily driven TII. Cost about $10 at the scrapyard. I have one, but haven't installed it yet. I currently run a Perma-cool "finger chopper" and I am NOT impressed with it... DON'T buy the perma-cool.
