Clears up the engine bay, full control (depending on how you wire it) to decide when its on and when its off and at what temps..
Alot of people say the stock fan is better for functionality, but my car's e-fan has always shown an improvement over the stock fan, so.. Theres my two cents..

not worth it---If you have any type of upgraded stereo--it is a power drain--and your not gaining much for power--I tried it on a dyno and I gained an entire 1/4 hp so whoever says they get alot more power have not gotten the #S

I was semi forced into my electric fan about two weeks ago. I tested the voltage with my multimeter and had 14.2 volts at the battery with AC, headlights, stereo and fan on. I guess my charging system is pretty healthy.
No regrets here. The only thing it has to do is cool the car at idle and it does its job well, no signs of overheating at all after extensive wiring.
Sometimes it boils down to dumb luck, but if you know how to properly install an e-fan, it's no big deal.

I'm not saying your electric fan is no good, just trying to point out that no electric fan is an improvement over the stock fan.
An electric fan that's installed properly will work exactly the same as the stock fan, no better. A badly installed fan won't...

And I got faster rev`s wit the e-fan . every little bit helps if e-fans sucked soul would have used the stock one he had what 630whp . it looks so much more clean wit the stock fan gone two . but i do need a paint job .

Pop up lights don't hurt voltage too much because the motors to move the lights up and down are not on constantly. They only come on long enough to move the lights. Are you saying your new headlights draw less power than the stock ones?

Hey guys, new to the forum, i was just wondering how many of you with e-fans have actually messured your temperature? what kind of e-fans have you installed, really powerfull ones or what? how many of you that use e-fans also upgraded the radiator?
Last year when i was running with Haltech E6S in my car i tried using a mustang fan that fitted nicely over the factory radiator, but i still had problems, right now i think that is due to poor grounding and my alternator being under powered, but i never had upgraded sound system or anything that would load it up.
Any other suggestions?

I R SAD PANDA W/O BAW
I dont have an efan but I recall hearing alot of people using efans out of fieros.
My mentality is dont fix it if it aint broken, for fans anyways unless you just want to clean up your engine bay.

My little NA is staying cool enough with an old Ford Tarus fan.
The limit seems to be sustained 90MPH in 90% humidity with the AC blasting & the windows down.
If I stay at 100MPH, it just starts to move the temp needle above half way.

I have seen no problems with a Fiero e-fan isntalled with variable temp switch to dictate when fans come on and go off. Chances are my car with 168k had killed the the original fan clutch. It was cheaper to just install the e-fan (fan $10 - fan controller $30). Plus the install is cleaner and I now have absolute control over the fan and less parasitic drag on the motor when the fans not running - I have a seprate switch to turn the fan off altogether if needed (1/4 mile stuff?)
I have pics if folks want to see.

Electric fan really cleans up the engine bay. It looks alot better IMO. It does help with HP due to air drag from the engine working the fan. It only runs when it needs to. Don't get a pep boys special. Alot of guys run Fiero units though and I guess they work out ok, I run a permacool open air design (finger chopper), pulls 2800 cfm. 16"
Oh and you don't have to relocate the battery for a FMIC. The piping can route under it.

Oh, I'm going to relocate it anyways for a cleaner engine bay. But I was just wondering the same thing if someone makes an FMIC kit that uses the stock fan/shroud setup.

FWIW...my Fiero fan mount. The fiero fan is pretty much a perfect fit with the exception of a 1 inch gap down one side. You be the judge from the pics. The fan comes with a full shroud - open shrouded fans are much less effective. This is an offset 5 blade design, the same as that found on the FD and is a 16" fan IIRC. The correct fiero fan is from a 6 cylinder 2m6 or GT model from what I can tell. Search the archives. I found mine at a local junkyard..they had three. I fabbed some simple brackets out of regular bars stock for mounting the fan (going through the fan may lead to wearing a hold in the radiator fins = leaks) and the variable temp controller/relay w/probe I got off eBay for $30.

The other advantage of full control is that you can turn on the fan after a hard run, and it will deliver a full blast of cooling air to the radiator, as to where the stock fan will be paddling along in comparison, and if you shut the engine off, you've got nothing. The E-Fan will continue to suck air through the engine bay and prevent heat soak.
I run both fans now, both E-Fan and stock fan. You wouldn't believe the difference. The stock fan just doesn't pull enough air at idle speeds to keep the AC condenser cool enough, so the E-Fan really helps out, but I still runt he stock fan for redundant reliability, and superior cooling. There is no situation now that can even touch my temp sensor needle, not even rush hour traffic on the hottest day. This is the same setup used on OEM 240SXs to compensate for a mechanical fan's lack of low rpm pull.
E-Fans are very powerful though. The Perma Cool that I run is so powerful, that it spins the stock fan when the engine is off at a pretty good speed.
