EL NENE 7's - "EYE CANDY" --"The Road to 450HP"

Well i started doing my engine in hopes to reach a goal hp number. 450 that is i will update this page often with installs, pics, tips, and products used. I am building this engine on my own with help of GUITARJUNKIE as a guarding angel over my shoulder.

My first goal was to clean these rotors and housing to a point you can eat off them. Then do a nice streetport and modify the rear Iron . Everything in this rebuild is going to be new, GASKET WISE AND SEALS, RINGS ETC...

here are some pics i wish i would of taken pics of the tear down but who cares it the rebuild what we like.

well for the irons, i resurfaced them and cleaned them . Each one took me close to 2 hours to clean

The rotors i used CLP wich is made for military weapons its a cleaner , lubricant and preservative , A little bit of a non-harsh wire brush and time got them looking like new. Then i went over all the surfaces with 1000grit sand paper with clp to clean them.

The reason for the polishing of rotors is so it will be a lot harder to get carbon buildup and to kill time.lololo

theres no significant gains in cleaning your rotors besides knowing you will be a little safe on carbon build up plus it will help with the break in

That there's one purty motor.
For those that don't speak southern redneck, that means its a damn nice looking motor. Good luck with the rebuild, and are you planning on any type of AI?

Wow... beautiful, and VERY clean. This makes me want to rebuild my own engine. I would be afraid to possibly mess up the port job though. Awesome job...

Lovin' it... Now the million dollar question is, are you stepping up and getting *new* rotor housings for your perfect rebuild? I've been thinking about a set in my next engine... Either way, it sounds like everything's coming together nicely--so I'm sure you'll reach your goal.

UPDATE!!!!!!

ok yesterday i finished all the removal of the A/C and HEATER units plus removed excess harnesses .

I also retaped all the wire harness under the dash and ziptied it every 4 inches. On top of that i secured it with clips to the firewall.

i have so much room under the dash now i can fit my self under there, hummm NITROUS BOTTLE HIDe OUT who knows.

Iwill post pics in a couple of hours

cool, looks like it will be anice motor, is this your first rebuild? I want to build one for my TII for the ong run but it just had a remanufactured engine from Mazda Installed befor i bought it, i'm still breaking in this motor but looking at those shiny parts makes me wanna learn how to rebuild mine. One thing I figured is that, no doubt when i do rebuild I will use oem mazda apex seals as well. Take care and good luck
