ECU's

what would happen if i were to put an ECU from a 88 turbo 2 into a 88 n/a and how are the two different. does the turbo have a different mixture than the n/a. any info would be appreciated

As far as I know they are not the same ECU. It has different maps since its dealing with higher than atmospheric pressure and different compression ratio's.

so if i were to put the turbo 2 ecu into my n/a nothing would happen? or would i damage my engine?

The turbo ecu is different from the n/a ecu like 1987rx7guy said, and I bet that since boost pressure and other turbo sensors send data to the turbo ecu, that if you tried to plug it into a non turbo you would get undesirable results. I would just go ahead and get the appropiate ecu for your engine and year. In my experience, it's not like non turbo ecus are rare at all.

If you have a 1988 non turbo, you want an ecu with:
N327 18 880
printed on the top.
