ECU / Electrical issues???
Hey guys,
I was driving around my car, and I noticed that the buzzer for when you leave the key in worked.. I was soo happy.. also later that day I noticed that the little light to help you find the slot for the key came on. I thought wow.. maybe this thing just decided to fix itself. Then the next day nothing.. no buzzer or anything, and now even my security system does'nt beep... so I dunno what is going on. Is my rx7 possesed or haunted or soemthing??
It is probably an electrical connection loose or soemthing, as opposed to being something physically wrong with the ECU.
Thanks,
Chris

Most likely there is a loose ground wire somewhere in there and it keeps grounding itself somehow (so they work all of a sudden), and then gets loose again (so they turn off). I'm not sure which wire it is though, check out the factory service manual (FSM) on the http://www.fc3s.org site to find it.

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
Not ECU (Engine or Emissions Control Unit), CPU (Central Processing Unit).
The ECU controls the engine.
The CPU controls the horn, turn/hazard signals, key warning, etc.
Sounds like a cold solder joint in the CPU. Resolder or replace it.
