Ebay OBX-R Exhaust?

Does anybody on here have the OBX-r exhaust that's on ebay? If so is it a catback or downpipe back? I heard it connects to the downpipe. From looking at this video it looks like the full exhaust.

If so does the front section replace just the cats and the rear bolt up to where the stock cats end or is it all or nothing, meaning you have to use the whole system for everything to line up? I need it to bolt to my RB pre-silencer. I really don't want to ditch my HKS but the welds to the mufflers are rusting out and causeing leaks and the section before the Y splits is cracked. The piping is still decent just all the welds are rusting and flaking off. Looking into this OBX 'cause I need something cheap to throw on for the time being. Thanks.

I have no idea about the obshit products for the rx7, but I had the headers for a tiburon and they were too short to meet the midpipe, missing an O2 bung, and rusted in no time dispute saying that they were stainless steel. Must have been the lowest grade possible.

All I can say is that you get what you pay for. I'd search for a different brand.

I used to have the corksport knock-off (ss autochrome) I loved it! It was a "turbo back" But my car is NA, the pre-silencer bolted right in place of the cat connecting to the collector on my Pacesetter header like it was meant to be there. Heres a link...http://www.ssautochrome.com/level.itml/icOid/1482. Great system for the price and works with either NA or T2 cars.

I figured the quality is suspect as the whole system costs only slightly more than a Magnaflow or RB universal muffler alone, but there is a guy on here that gave the FD one a decent review for what it is.

I like that dual setup but it's more than I can/am willing spend right now. Looking at the price of the turbo back system, if they sold just the cat back part it might be on the upper end of what I'm willing to spend.

I found an M2 Performance system on there for alittle more that I almost like the looks of the piping on better. Besides I need to stay cheap on a single as I'm afraid it's gonna be so blasted loud I'll have to throw on another muffler in line to quiet it down.

I didnt know M2 made an exhaust for an FC.

My cousin has an OBX catback and header on his AE86. The header fitment was a little off and the exhaust is only 2 years old and showing rust on the welds. The car is garaged in the winter.

LMAO thats my car. Anyway, i wanted a cheap single, it works, and Ive had no issues with fitment. I really just wanted the piping, so being on the cheap side you won't feel bad cutting it up. For it to work with a header on a N/A you need to make a 2.5" to 3" reducer about 3" long.

My future plans is a magnaflow presilencer and a flowmaster Hushpower pro series on the end with a dumpy tip.

Drove it daily 120miles a day for nearly a year, with 2 harsh winters, discolored but not pitted or rusty.

Cool. I wondered if/was hoping the owner was on here. I've got the Racing Beat header pre-silencer combo so it ends right where the stock cat ends. Will this bolt right on then or will I have to cut some out of the long straight pipe? That may be ok as I figured I might stick a Dynomax race bullet muffler in there to quiet it down.

Is M2 decent? Better or about the same quality as the OBX? Shipping is higher on the M2 so it comes out to be almost 30.00 more than the OBX all said and done.

Depending on where the RB header ends, idk if you will be-able to bolt it on or not, i have a Corksport Header, and its a convertible. Might need to make that extension piece for it to work.

I think I'm going to go with the M2 performance one instead. It looks almost identical to the corksport. The muffler looks slightly different.

Never liked obx, seen their product on other cars. Didn't like it. I'd say save the extra cash and buy something a little more proven. Just my opinion.

I agree.

Not only that, but cheap parts will fail fast. Why bother going through the trouble of getting something inferior and having to replace it when you can just get a quality piece to begin with?

Right now I'm running a muffler shop special, and it's actually quite a nice exhaust.

It reaaaaallly needs a resonator or three, though.

In this case I don't see the logic. Putting one cheap catback on suddenly makes the whole car cheap and shitty? I don't think so. Everything else I've put on it has been of good quality. I'm about ready to go back to my original idea of rolling the dice on this Dynomax Y-pipe that goes to their system and hope it swaps right into mine because it looks almost identical to the one in my current HKS system. This fixes my cracked Y problem and maybe I can limp the rusting out welds along alittle longer with the patch putty stuff I've been using and do some kind of custom Magnaflow setup or buy the rest of the Dynomax system later.

The Y. http://www.jegs.com/i/Dynomax/289/42226/10002/-1
The system. http://www.jegs.com/i/Dynomax/289/17440/10002/-1

The system pieces can be purchased seperate.

The point isn't that a single cheap part is going to make your car crappy. But, if you have spent good money on so many other nice parts, why even cut corners on a single part. Might as well get everything nice. Yanno.

Well I rolled the dice on the Dynomax Y-pipe that goes to their performance system. Thier system looks like a clone of the old HKS Sport system I currently have so I'm hoping it will be a direct bolt in. Hopefully I can limp the weld thats rusting out on the inlet to the left muffler along with this patch stuff I've been using for another year or so.

obx mufflers are not half bad. they use similar packing to the racing beat. it uses stainless steel wool, which can with stand the heat.
