Ebay Clutch Experiances
Looking to replace the clutch in my N/A that will eventually be Turbo swapped(keeping N/A Drivetrain if possible). The reason im changing is the clutch slips sometimes under hard driving(only when changing gears). I was looking at the ebay clutches. I was looking into a stage 2, 3, 4 clutch. Does anyone have any experiences with them? I would like to have an exedy or something like that but money doesnt permit it. If they are decent then its going on the birthday list and i will change it this winter

i just saw they have Exedy OEM style clutches on there. My only issue is i dont want to spend $140 for a stock clutch now and then have to spend $300 or more for a good one when i go turbo because im going to have the turbo engine rebuilt ported and a huge turbo. Looking to make some good HP
edit: going to go with Turbo II Rotor's suggestion of parts from Mazdatrix and piece the parts together little by little. Then when it comes time i will put it in the car

Buy an oem clutch and enjoy your car
t2 motor on n/a drivetrain = TOW TRUCK mark my words
stop cutting corners guys it will bite u in the *** later on, if u cant afford a T2 try not to build one out of a n/a unless you have the cash to do it right and the first time.
Y ou will definately end up parting your car because you wasted your money on a half assed job, I am not flaming you bro just some of us who been on here a while have seen it countless of times "Every day Jesus kills a bunny because some Rotor head thinks rx7s are like civics, they always think IT SHOULD WORK"

oo from what i was told by a ton of people a n/a drivetrain is just as good as a turbo and i didnt think they were right. I will probably just buy a Turbo II parts car with a complete drivetrain. like i said the plan isnt to save money on the new setup just save on the one i have now until i can build the other setup. I want to rebuild a Turbo II engine, large streetport or bridgeport it, then a nice big turbo to top it all off

well in that case buy that oem clutch and save the cash, be prepared to spend some cash and if you have close to $5000 , to begin playing with a ported t2 motor, big turbo, and a standalone ....ohh and all the supporting mods!
-and if you are buying a swapped t2 make sure all the drivetrain and harness is T2
-if buying a real t2 make sure everything is turbo of course

yea dude listen to what El Nene 7 is telling you. he's exactly on the same track as I am. now as far as the clutch goes, im a die hard centerforce type of guy, BUT, I have sold and have had great luck in my race car the XTD clutches that are sold on ebay. now before I get flamed let me explain my concept. Remember im running it in a track car, longjevity means nonthing when your gonna strip her down and rebuild her every track day or so. I wouldnt recomend using it in a street car, but if your going to run it as a track car, well, its honestly the way to go. thats just my 2 cents worth. I sell them to alot of tunners, and they seem to love them, but when your car is a stock civic with a cold air intake and a fart can, i dont think it would really matter anyways. The Xtd is still better than any clutch you can buy at autozone and ETC.. it is up to u but racing beat is a great start

yea the plan is to build it slowly and like you said with all the right parts. I figured about $5000 to do it but it will be worth it in the end.

guys, stop saying **** like "pay xxxx dollars and get clutch x"
he wants to know what youre experiences with ebay clutches are, not your judgements on the amount of money he has to spend on his car.
My buddy has an F1 racing stage 2 clutch for his NA. He loves it. I googled up "f1 racing clutch" and have read tons of good feedback on various forums.
I am going to buy a TII f1 racing clutch for my car, and I have no doubts about my soon-to-be-purchase whatsoever.

I have a TII making a hiar over stock power, and the clutch is a 6 puck XTR (aka an ebay clutch). It was a waste of money. The clutch is stupid touchy, inconsistant, and a royal pain in the ***. I would not recomend it to anyone. If you need a clutch that will hold more torque than the stock unit, get a stock disc and a hevier pressure plate. The ebay clutch uses a super light pressure plate and the most aggressive disc they can find. Does it slip... no, but there are better ways to get the job done.

The thread just change in a 180 degree way, now you read the thread from top to bottom because u obviously didnt read jack.
Let me help u so u wont get lost, He wants to put a Ported t2 motor with a "BIG" turbo on N/A drivetrain- THAT CHANGE THE THREAD AGAIN-
So now we are giving the man advice and he is not an *** , we clearly helped him not make a mistake like spending $3k plus trying to do another t2 swap that never gets finished
So in short if u didnt read the post nor understand what we are trying to do with this guy dont post "****" towards us because we are helping him.
Buy your ebay clutch go ahead - big deal an n/a even with all the craziest mods you do to it will not have the tourqe to even out with a $300 clutch. So again for the OP dude trust me get a new clutch and supporting slaves you will definatly put good use of it till you are ready to swap it over!

that is what im going to do since it only has to last til i put in the turbo drivetrain. I dont wanna mod the hell outta my n/a when im putting in a turbo so i dont need a huge supporting clutch. I just need something that will support my aggressive driving(including donuts, burnouts, drifting, and hard shifts).

well rested,buffet o food
Act stage 3 na 6 puck sprung clutch. Keep the na drivetrain coupled to the t2 engine. Aside from screwing up by initially puting in a 158 dollar xtd clutch, i have tina turnered the **** out of my drivetrain with the t2 motor with no issues. Those that dont know about the stoutness of an na drive train, check out aaroncakes website. 420 something rwhp at the dragstrip frequently.
