e-shaft pulley replacement on a s4 automatic?

been wondering about this for awhile now and was curious if anyone has had any actual experience doing this.

ive read alot of other threads about removing the crank/e-shaft pulley and i know your supposed to keep the clutch depressed the whole time when you remove/install a pulley if the engine is still in the car to prevent a bearing from slipping and getting crushed behind the front cover.(yeah i forgot what its called exactly its been awhile)

my question is what is the proper procedure on a automatic since we dont have a clutch and instead have a flexplate bolted to a torque converter. is it going to cause the same thing to happen with the bearing on the shaft because of the weight of the converter on the back of the e-shaft?

Take off the inspection cover and with a prybar have someone pry the torque converter towards the front of the csr

the pulley comes off with 4 screws..The hub is the one with that 19mm.Pulley attaches to hub.
Now if you are taking the hub off too, then get the bolt loosened then put the car in neutral.

the hub is what i am going to remove with the starter trick. the 2 pulleys for the ac and p/s im not using. i already removed them from my stock hub. i should of said hub in the first place. im just afraid of ruining my thrust bearing when i remove the bolt and put the new pulley on. every other one i read about was on a stick car. i was just curious if someone had actual experience doing this on a automatic without the biased opinions and hate that people kick up whenever the automatic topic comes up

the pulley, the hub. rotarys dont use a crankshaft so its not really a crank pulley..... eccentric shaft hub and pulley.

You can remove the pulleys all day without an issue, but once you remove the hub someone needs to have a pry bar on the flex plate pushing it towards the front of the car. No need for useless post this is end all info needed for the removal of the front pulleys and hub.
