Hey. tuners. On the OZ wideband web site, the question has come up about the location of the 02 sensor while the car is on the dyno. It seems some people have had their car dyno'd prior to buying their wideband, and they notice that their wideband is reading richer than the dyno 02 sensor reading. They are speculating that the dyno shop puts the 02 sensor in the tail pipe whereas the individual puts his in a bung near the exaust manifold.

Where do you think the wideband sensor should be placed? Do you think it would make a difference in the 02 reading? I'm pasting a post from that site below:

I just installed my wideband using a used sensor
because ypu can't seem to get new ones. My battery
voltage is 13.5.

I noticed the #s I am getting out of my unit seem
maybe a point richer than what I was seeing when I was
on the dyno using thier wideband. Has anyone else
compared thier reading to a another type of wideband?
Just wondering as when I went to the dyno I was
running 12.5:1 a/f and my wideband is saying 11:1
a/f. Its tough to say for sure as I don't remember if
I changed any parameters in the ecu.

Thanks for any info,
Tony

This is the very reason why I usually state to NOT target a specific number on a wide-band.

apparently it differs across different brands of wideband sensors too.
